  1. Xbox's Enforcement Team Has Failed

I know that it doesn't matter, and that the odds are no one reading this will be able to do anything, but since I can't file a Case Review (even though my communication ban is apparently greater then 24 hours), I'm going to post my thoughts here and wash
my hands of the whole ordeal. So, here I go.

I've been playing Dark Souls 3 for a few months now. It's been a blast up until recently. To me, the best part was invading (my charactr name was "Jon von Addams" by the way; perhaps I invaded you ). I enjoyed invading someone elses world as an invisible
archer/sniper and waging my own little wars of attrition. Granted, after doing over 1,000 invasions (a little of 600 of which were successful), you're bound to annoy a few people. People wrote all sorts of insults, lame excuses, and the like. I even had multiple
people rage quit on me. I found it all hilarious.

Well, wanting to have a fun time and a challenge, I invaded at Pontiff's Place hoping to get into a lobby were the Host and his minions would be gankng. Sure enough, I got my wish (which is expected at that place). I played as an invisible archerer/sniper,
and gave the Host and his phantoms the run around. I led three of the phantoms all the way to Anor Londor, then gave them the slip and went back to fight the Host who had stayed behind. Obviously I got killed, simply because a Mad Dark Phantom decided to help
the Host, but what do you expect? It's Pontiff's Place. I wasn't upset in the least.

Well, one of the phantoms I had shot multiple times with arrows decided to write me and gloat, stating my tactics were cowardly. I let him know that I didn't care, he was obviously annoyed with me, and that my survival in that situation wasn't great from
the beginning. I stated that he coward behind his buddies, and that without them, I said jokingly, he would run like the bitch he was. Following me writing the word bitch, this dude starts to threat to have me banneded, even though he was using the accronym
"LMAO." I then reiterated I didn't care, and that I was tired of people writing me with vague, poorly written messages. I then quoted Nami from One Piece and said "shove it," to which he replied with a homophobic remark. I'd had enough of him, I said good
riddance and blocked him. End of story, or so I thought.

Well, the guy got me communition banned, for apparently more than 24 hours. I tried to file a Case Review, but my account says I'm in good statnding. It doesn't make sense. The guy harasses my style of playing, uses an acronym that containes the word
"ass," and insults me with a homophobic remark; yet, I'm the dude that keeps to himself, and gets blocked for telling a troll off. I know he didn't get communication banned because I wrote him from my brother's account in an incredibly civil way. He thought
it was all funny and stated he was going to get my brother's account banned.

Now, I'm not perfect. And I don't mind being banned if I've violated a rule. If using the word "bitch" or telling a troll to "shove it" is going to get me banned, so be it. I can handle that. But it isn't right when the dude who get's you banned gets
away free. According to MicroSoft's rules, he engaged in unsporting behavior, and while he didn't write a curse word, he did use a homophobic insult and he wrote the acronym "LMAO." But I guess acronyms don't matter to the Xbox Enforcement Team. Not even the
    acronym LGBT.

Needless to say, I won't be playing Dark Souls 3 anymore. Too many people are sore losers in this community.

    :)

Wondering if I could speak with someone with Enforcement

Currently, there is no way of contacting Xbox's enforcement team. The best thing you can do at the moment is file for an appeal so that Xbox's enforcement team can take a second look at your case.

Xbox this is bs im selling my xbox for a ps4.

We can't do anything about ban's here. You will need to follow the steps on Xbox's enforcement page. The best thing to do when you come across a player like that is to block and report them, so that Xbox's enforcement team can deal with the issue. Also find
    another lobby immediately.

  4. Xbox's Enforcement Team Has Failed

P.P.S. It's obvious that the ban is longer than 24 hours, as I'm still banned. My account still states I'm in good standing and there are no offenses shown. So I'm being punished and I'm not even entitled to a Case Review, even though my ban is greater
than 24 hours? Like I've already stated, if using the words "bitch" and "shove it" against a troll is going to get me banned, so be it. I can deal with that. But if the Enforcement Team isn't going to punish the troll, who used a homophobic remark, delighted
in his attempts at annoying me, and used the acronym "LMAO" (which contains the word "ass"), why punish me?

Accountability is very important. And it seems the Xbox Enforcement Team is having some accountability issues.

Howdy and welcome to the forum community.

I know that such situations can be frustrating. In reading through your detailed message, I did focus on one point.

Perhaps you filed a report via the console and did not mention it, but from reading your original post, that is the critical missing step. Blocking an abusive gamertag and moving on are certainly appropriate and very important steps to take, but in order
for the enforcement system to work properly, the enforcement team must receive a report from you.

If you did file a report, then action still may be forthcoming. The large volume of reports received can take a period of time for Enforcement to parse.

One other "heads-up" for future consideration. No enforcement action will come of posts on the Xbox social forums here, and it is against the Xbox Forums Guidelines to "name and shame." Forum Guidelines can be found here: Xbox Forum Guidelines
(sorry, for some reason I can't create a live link today).

    Wishing you the best.

  6. Hello Leo,

Just to let you know, I did report him right away. I then reported him a second time once I was banned. Thanks for sharing the rules, I'll try to make sure I keep them in mind if I ever post again.

    Thanks again, and happy gaming!

    Jon

  7. P.S. It's obvious this person is abusing the system. They only reported me because my tactics within the game were annoying to them. Who else have they done this to and the Xbox Enforcement Team has banned? MicroSoft, we're paying for these services from
you, and it's apparent your system of dealing with these situations isn't working. I can see why my friends and others have been switching to Sony.

  8. Xbox's Enforcement Team Has Failed

I tried to edit my comments here to better fit the forums guidelines, but it won't allow me to edit or delete. So, I'm guessing this has something to do with my ban, because I can't even edit my profile.

    Howdy again.

Thanks for the update. For this particular episode, it seems that you've done everything that you can.

For my own purposes, I do best by never responding to an inflammatory message or comment on the Xbox Live service. The instinct to defend oneself is strong I know, but doing so unfortunately just ends up providing fodder for the instigator. And from reading
similar reports, it does seem that some instigators have learned to use that self-defense instinct to their advantage.

When subjected to that kind of message or behavior, the current enforcement system works most effectively by not replying, muting/blocking communication, and if they have broken the Terms of Use and/or Code of Conduct, to log a report
via the console. And then, of course, keep right on gaming!

Once again, all the best, and happy gaming to you!
