XboxOneX full crash/shutdown GPU overheating on character screen?

I have experienced an issue several times where I am selecting the character via the in game character screen while in the base. I hear all the fans go into hyperspeed on my XboxOneX Scorpio Edition and then the game crashes and the Xbox immediately powers
off. This is similar to what happens when I open a loot crate in SWBF2. My console is well ventilated with 4 external fans blowing down from 8” away. The ambient air surrounding the console never exceeds 82deg.F. The console has never shut down unexpectedly
before while playing any other game then the ones mentioned above.

Power on problems

Hi. Since some days my console don't switch on with my controllers power buttons. I can only switch on with the power button of the console and this case the startup is very long and come from full shutdown, but I set the power on method INSTANT ON. This
happens some hours after only because ex. some minutes after shutdown the controllers can power up the consol...I do not understand...is this hardware error or what? The sonsole and the controllers are updated every settings is right...help please what I do!

Blue static while playing certain games.

Blue static is apparently a sign that you GPU is overheating and on it's way out...

 

Have you tried clearing your cache by holding down the power button on your console for 10 seconds?

 

I tried clearing the cache and unplugging the power cord. As mentioned the console was shutting down completely (full shutdown) which I thought cleared the cache automatically. It didn’t even attempt a reboot by itself, I had to press the power button
to turn it back on.

 

I posted this on Twitter @XboxSupport and they did not reply (not even to offer the standard “waste of time” suggestions). I can’t play the game on the XboxOneX when it keeps shutting down like this. Tempted to take my console back to BestBuy but then
I lose my extended warranty and have to purchase a new warranty for the replacement non Scorpio edition.

 

I too am having this issue. If you wait on the title screen to long the fans ramp up a fair bit. During general gameplay that fans are working harder than they do during any other game I've played on the console, and as you said, while on the community screen,
the fans go crazy and if on there too long the console shuts down and can't be turned back on for 10 mins or so. There is a discussion on Reddit regarding this issue but nobody from Undead Labs or Microsoft seem to be acknowledging the problem.

 

This exact same thing is happening to me too!!! I have played Sea of Thieves for upwards of 6 hours at a time, same thing with AC:Origins and never had this issue. Both of those games have more impressive designs, graphics, and I would think physics systems
at play but not once did the fan ever even become audible. It seems to me like some sort of programming issue due to the fact that there is no fps cap on the the game, but this is so weird that a freaking menu screen sends it into super sonic level of circulation. I
have lost so many hours already of progress due to the "overheating". What is crazy is the regular X1 or X1S do not have this issue. Come on MS/Undead what is the deal?

 

What is funny to me is they will respond on Twitter right away with whatever generic answer you get from typing into the Microsoft Support website. They would not even touch this issue or admit that there is one. Usually they take the time to at least
lay blame on the user for how they installed their console or whatever.

 

Yeah, support and communication around this game, and this problem in particular has been poor. Support on the SoD2 website specifically mentions other minor bugs, but there is no mention, and no acknowledgement on any channel, Twitter, website etc, of this
potentially console damaging problem at all.

I pre ordered the Ultimate Edition of the game, and I can't play it because of this problem, and don't know if I ever will be able to play it because they haven't made any acknowledgment of this problem in over a week. For all I know they may have no intention
of fixing it. Are they even reading these posts here? Or the posts on Reddit

This post is hopefully serving as a bump to the thread as I haven't seen or heard of any answers to the problem on these forums. I actually switched out my 1X for the 1S and played for numerous hours without any issue. This is definitely something with
the programming of the game for the 1X console and hopefully it can be addressed/patched asap. It isn't a huge downgrade to go back to the 1S, but still annoying that I cannot maximize the products I own and paid for.....please MS or Undead see this and do
something.

 

It's been 3 weeks since release, we've had 2 patches, and yet, what is possibly the most serious bug, still goes unfixed.

Not only does it go unfixed, but it has never been acknowledged by Undead Labs. It's been reported through the relevant channels, via the support email, via report a problem on the console, on their discord support channel, on Xbox forums and never once
has it been acknowledged. Support for this game is appalling . Fixing small almost irrelevant bugs that have little affect on someone playing the game, when there is bugs like this being ignored that actually stop people playing the game, or else risk damage
to their consoles.

Simply disgusting.

Best Buy had a sale on XboxOne X’s so I decided it was time to exchange the DEFECTIVE most powerful console ever built by Microsoft (Scorpio Edition). The good news was that I bought the no questions asked (they still ask) GEEK squad protection plan. With
the sale on the replacement console and repurchase of the new GEEK squad protection plan it was a $0 cost exchange. I wonder what would have MS said if I sent the console in for warranty repair/exchange? The console worked fine 90% of the time but would
crash every time I went on the character screen or opened a loot crate in SW Battlefront 2 it would crash faster than a xbox360 with RROD.
