XboxOne X - Region Language

When or is Microsoft ever going to address localized language for Cortana?!? Windows 10 can manage region Canada English and XboxOne remains incapable in late 2018!!! Nice new XboxOne X, adapter to run Kinect and same useless, inept box as ever.

Hi Leslie,

thanks for creating an new thread for me. I‘ve already tried a soft factory reset, but it still did not work.

Today i joined the Xbox Insider program. A couple of hours later Cortana received an update with german speech files, since then she works fine.

Well so it seems like Cortana is indeed only available for Xbox Insiders. Could you please check if this intended or an bug?

XboxOne X - Region Language

It's clearly a bug, glitch in the OS.

1) Did Factory Reset

2). On start-up it installed Canada English Language at about 489Mb

3). Reboot and worked very briefly. Right until installing games. Something in using store which links account breaks things.

Installing 1st game (Destiny 2) saw a dialog pop up stating Cortana wasn't available.

4.) Cortana went right back to Cortana and dictation aren't available. Cortana isn't currently supported in your language and location. Language Region en-CA, location CA. Check back after future updates.

Annoying, frustrating and equally absurd. Three computers running Windows 10. There in English or French (Canada) Cortana is conversant.

Why in 2018, almost 2019 does the XboxOne and a costly X fail?!?

Very long evening, day redoing everything. Only consolation knowing half a GB of language is buried on the Hard drive.

 

Hi Gregg,

Under your system settings select Language & Location, then under Language region select English (Canada). Next to that select Spoken language and select English (Canada). That should update voice commands for Cortana for your region.

Sorry about it , i'm also in the same case as you since the Kinect V1 for the Xbox 360 (not working for french people from Belgium…).

The main reason is the fact they want the best experience with Kinect and for our bad luck some of us doesnt talk the correct language or too many dialects and different accents but they work on it, and Alexa is coming soon too with more compatibility.

It's not an option on XboxOne! My region is Canada, My language is English (Canada) But with Cortana, voice commands = Your region isn't supported, check back. Now going on since....
