XBOXONE S doesn’t restart after having added an external HD

Hi all, I’m experiencing a problem with the restart of my console Xbox One S after having added a Seagate Backup Plus Slim 2TB USB 3.0. First, it was not possible to format it by connecting it to my console. Then, after having leaved it connected to
my console, I tried to restart. The following error appeared and then the green screen with logo XBOX ONE appears at each restart... « System Error: E200 0000004C 00000000 » OS Version:19041.2583.amd64fre.vb_release_xbox_dev_2006.200609-0000 I had the choice
after having clicked on Troubleshoot icon between: - Restart this Xbox - Reset this Xbox - Offline system update (not possible to click on) - Turn off this Xbox But now after having chosen to restart, I only get the green loading screen indefinitely and the
console switch off by itself after a while... Thanks for your help &#55356;�

Hi there,

please try the following:

Disconnect the external storage device and try to boot the console to see if the console boots up.

If it doesn't boot then please try the steps at Step 1 on this link:
https://support.xbox.com/help/hardware-network/console/system-update-solution/offline-system-update and try a Reset of the console.

You might also want to run a test tool on the external storage device. Seagate has specific tools that can be run to Check the a storage device via a PC, you can find the tools here:

The tool will be able to check if there are any issues on the external drive itself

Frankly, I am not a massive fan of this "external" hard drive. I find that even after I have added it to my Xbox One, I still need to keep deleting games and data from my internal HD. So for me.. it is all confusing and annoying. Updates and all that keep
getting added. Some at 30 GB plus. So in the end I am still deleting my games after adding these external HDs.

I’m having the same issue. If I get past the screen, it doesn’t read my external HD. Also won’t allow for a restart or a full shutdown without booting right back into this. Tried power cycling several times. Seems like a bad update or something.

After removing my account and adding it back on after a console restart the game still doesn’t show up in my library.

I get to that point. Sitting at home and eventually it connects to internet and the controllers. About a 2 minute wait. But still doesn’t read the external HD. I tried all 3 ports, power cycling and restarting. That first error comes back on all reboots.
