    Hello,

    I am sure it has been asked many times, but I have a Samsung M3 1TB as an external HDD.

    It was working fine, until XboxOne started telling me that the connection is not fast enough (not USB3.0) which is untrue as it was working fine (I had installed games and apps).

    I changed the USB cable as I thought the original one was faulty.

    Same problem.

    Power cycle, same problem.

    I did reset my XboxOne, still the same.

    I have formatted the HDD on my PC, and reconnected it to the XboxOne.

    Now not only has the same problem , but it won't format the drive, and it can't be used even for capture.

    I am sure the HDD is fine, I have no trouble using it on my PC, so the problem lies with the XboxOne.

    Any ideas?

    i have had that very same issue in the past, found it was the external caddy playing up, i just took the drive out and bought another cheap usb 3.0 caddy and placed the drive in that, resolved instantly.

    Dont do this if your external drive is under warranty, just get it replaced.

    Those early M3 HDDs have USB fixed on the PCB (no adaptor) , so I don't think buying another external caddy would help.
