Xbox360s cannot connect xbox live to att uverse wifi.

it cannot connect to my wireless network. i think i have tried just about everything. the console is in a game room so directly connecting to the gateway is no viable.

the suggestions it gives me are to try turning on/off. restarting/rebooting. changing to manual ip address. check mac filtering. check dhcp something. i have tried all of these (this does not mean i've done them correctly though).

any other ideas before I throw it all out the window???

This suggests, that your router isn't leasing an IP address to the console via DHCP. Either the console is too far from the WiFi, so the connection is too weak to properly handle a connection, or a setting prevents the console from getting a proper IP from
your router.

In the Xbox network settings, press right on the controller to go to the additional network settings.

There reset the network settings to factory default, and have the console scan for your Wireless network again.

Try to connect to it again and hope it works now.

If it doesn't, and you still can't get a decent connection, you might want to consider investing in so called "homeplug" adapters, that use your home's power lines as a network.

There are several makers of ethernet over powerline homeplugs, the most known being

Devolo.
