My dad created a Microsoft and an Xbox live account for me almost 7 years ago. He had me in a family group through Microsoft so he can keep track of me on my devices at a young age. last year he gave me "adult rights" through Xbox so I can purchase and play
adult content (now that I am older), and as of a couple weeks ago, completely got rid of the family group through Microsoft. My xbox360 has been working just fine up until tonight. I turned it on, and it says I have to have a "parent" linked to my account
in order to access my account. I tried using my email, my moms, and my friends. nothing worked. I got ahold of my dad and he told me about how he got rid of the family group.

I've logged into my Microsoft account, and it states that I am no longer in a family group, as well as me getting a confirmation email prior. But when I go to the Xbox website, it says I can't access any of my settings, and my "parent" has to do it through
their account. My father tried to see if I was still linked to his account but found no sign of me anywhere.

Has anyone had this issue before, what the heck do I do?

Just started replaying my xbox360 and enjoying Skyrim, Dead Space 2, Castle Crashers with my kids, Max Payne 3, Bioshock Infinite

Unfortunately I find myself playing more xbox360 than Xbox One at the moment

 

New Gears will NOT be on 360

try login in to Sign in to your Microsoft account and see how things are setup there.

While your dad could give you "adult rights" in a sense that your account can for example talk to internet strangers, and play adult games, the real "adultness" is determined by the birthdate of your account that was entered when your account was created.

If your account hasn't reached legal adult age according to that birthdate (usually over 18 years, except Japan and Korea, where you have to be over 20), you are still considered a child/teen, and your parents have to manage your account.

Please go to
https://account.xbox.com/settings and if you get instructions on how to add your account to a parent account, you still have a child/teen account, and you need a parent to go to
Microsoft account | Your family and add you to the family. Then your parents can go to Sign in to your Microsoft account
and modify your account's online and privacy settings, until you are over the age of 18, where you then can leave the family yourself.
