XBOX360 USB UPDATE STUCK

I have an original xbox360. Yesterday I tried to update it over wifi and i guess the signal was weak so it failed. I then decided (after speaking to a very unhelpful Microsoft associate) to continue the update offline, or on usb. I then tried the update
and it got to about 10 precent before failing. Now every time I turn on my xbox it will go back to the update page with no way to get back to the home screen. (or anywhere) It gives me the following message "Cant read the update from your storage device. Please
reinsert it to continue the update." I have tried reinserting it and re downloading it on multiple usb drives with no luck. (i have no hard drive in the xbox but i doubt that matters) PLEASE HELP!!!

xbox break after update

When I tried to update my xbox360 i've got an error "417f-0000-0080-0200-8015-1909". So I'd tried to find any solution but nothing work. Then I find instruction about update from usb-stick and I decided to try it (Как получить обновление для Xbox 360)!

After update my xbox360 is reboot and stuck... Now it lights
red and doesn't boot!

How can I fix it?

And why you writes manuals who break the devices?

Xbox Live connecting problems - Can't process update

I tried to put the update in usb nd downloading it on my xbox360(says extracting) but it still says cant update

If you have no hard drive in the console, make sure you have a storage device on the console with at least 128MB of free storage space.

In order to get your console (hopefully) to boot to a normal dashboard, turn the console off. Remove all USB devices and accessories. Then hold down the small bind button to connect new wireless controllers. That button is the small round button next to
the memory unit slots on the older (rounder) Xbox 360 models, or the button next to the USB front flap on the newer S or E models of the Xbox 360.

With that button held down, press the power button shortly to start the console. Keep the bind button pressed until you hopefully see a dashboard.

With a working dashboard, go to the settings hub on the far right. Go to the system tile in the upper left, and go to storage. There check that you have enough free storage space (at least 128 MB). Then, on the screen where you select the different storage
devices, press the following button combination: LB RB X LB RB X

Let the console delete the failed update, then double check, that your USB drives are working properly and that the update is properly extracted to the USB drive.

Then try updating the console again.

same here. Xbox was stuck a 66% for HOURS! i tried the hard reset and updating offline via USB and the Xbox is stuck again at 66% again updating with a USB stick!

Hi paulbearon,

I had the same issue. My solution was to put a USB into the USB slot making sure the USB was big enough, format the USB to enable it to be used by the Xbox360, and reboot the Xbox. The system then recognised the USB and downloaded the update on to that.
That enables me to login to Live and clear some space on my HDD.
