Xbox360 Power Supply

Hi guys,i've noticed over the last 2 or 3 days that when I shut my xbox360 off,the power supply doesn't shut right off,but keeps running,I have to shut it off manually. Is there anything I can do,or is it on its way out. I'm using a wired controller as well
with it,and I havent had this xbox for very long,only a couple of months.

Actually, I recommend calling phone support, as there is no guarantee those second-hand PSUs aren't damaged.

I don't think you can buy brand new ones, especially for the older models of xbox as they redesigned the brick for the slim. Your best option is to go second hand through ebay or online classifieds.

 

The Xbox 360 power supply will stay on if you have save games stored in the cloud and if you are downloading anything prior to turning off the console.

If you don't use cloud saves and aren't downloading, do you have anything connected by USB outside of your controller like a USB flash drive or external HDD?

If you unplug all your USB connected devices like the controller, does the power supply turn off?

 

Ah,thats why! I started using the Cloud for Diablo 3 saves so I could take it to my friends house,that explains why it stays on,I will keep that in mind. Thanks Bazajaytee

 

I had this too at one stage...turns out it was me charging the controller. I believe all users should be told about this.
