    I have a 250GB slim xbox hard drive and when its in my xbox, my xbox won't load anymore, but when i take it out my xbox loads no problem so I know there is an issue with the hard drive itself. all of my games are still on it so I am wondering if there
    is a way to take the games from the hard drive by possibly plugging it into a computer and retracting the files and putting them on a USB stick??

    to a PC is not permitted.



    However, you could try connecting the drive to the 360 via a USB Transfer Cable. The user data portion may be readable via the Transfer Cable. Then you could Copy what you wanted from the Transfer Cable device to a USB Memory Unit.

    Hi TaughtGolf4122, formatting a hard drive means to delete everything off of your hard drive. You probably do not want to do that. Clear system cache is something that I do occasionally, particularly if my Xbox 360 is freezing. Clearing your cache will remove
    some game updates, though they can easily be downloaded again online. Hope this helps!

    it plugs in on the BOTTOM of your Xbox360S, the old Xbox360 hard drives (the big grey ones) are discontinued and are NOT compatible with the Xbox360S

    if you have an OLD Xbox360 hard drive ( the grey ones you plug into the side ), Microshaft has discontinued them........and the Xbox360S hard drives are not compatible with the old Xbox360s....but yet microsoft released a hybrid cable with both connector
    types so you can upgrade and transfer your old hard drive data to a new Xbox360S....hmmmm...scammers

    No, connecting to a computer for info would violate terms of use and lead to a ban.

    If your HD has died, your only option for retreiving any content is redownloading your profile, and using download history to get everything previously downloaded back for free.

    Of course, you would need a new HD for all this.

    The bad news is that any game saves are lost, and anything installed would need to be reinstalled.
