xbox360 controller with pc

    i did a bit of research into this and i find out that there is usually allot of misunderstanding in the thread so i will address all of them to avoid wasting everyone's time.

    i know in order to use a wireless xbox360 controller with a pc you need a receiver and the play and charge kit only transfers power and not connection.

    i have a wireless 360 controller but the battery pack is useless now as in it barely holds any power so i plug in the play and charge kit into my 360 and essentially use it as a wired controller and have no issues. now my question is if i buy the receiver
    and plug in the play and charge kit ONLY to power the controller would the receiver still work? or would the two peripherals collide?

    i just buy a usb adapter for pc to connect a xbox controller to a pc but i just have a xbox360 controller so there is any way to connect the xbox 360 controller to my pc with the xbox one usb wirelless adapteur

    XBOX 360 WIRED CONTROLLER NOT WORKING (keeps on blinking)

    Tried reconnecting the wires and cables.. still no hope.. tried it with my pc (all USB ports) and it works and the pc recognize it as an xbox controller.. btw i have an XBOX360 S

    Hi there,

    as far as I know the two devices shouldn't be causing a problem when used together on the PC.

    Because like you said yourself, the usb play & charge cable is only used to supply power. It isn't used for any other communication. The communication will go via the wireless receiver.

    I'm not sure what the pricetag is for the wireless receiver, but you may also want to consider buying a wired xbox 360 controller, that will work on the PC as well.

    Won't be a problem at all. sometimes I charge my controller from my laptop so my girlfriend doesn't yank my xbox on to the floor. Ocassionally I even plug it straight into a USB mains adapter. works fine whether using it to play on laptop or PC.

    alright thanks guys for taking time to reply. and WPAK i found official wireless recievers for quite cheap around £8 while the cheapest official wired controller i found was £25 new, so i thought i might as well put my wireless controllers to use now that
    i barely play my xbox. thanks again.

    Is your headset by any chance connected to your controller? If so then it's because the Xbox360 controller is not optimized to have a headset connected to it when it's connected to a pc
