    Xbox360 Controller not working on pc?


    I am using an xbox360 (not 3rd party) controller for my pc. I know the controller works because I tested it with the Xbox360 both with and without the cable. When I plug the controller into the pc the computer recognizes it as "Xbox 360 Peripherals" but
    steam doesn't recognize there is a controller plugged in. Also the light on the controller blinks until you unplug it. What can I do to solve this issue? I know it may be easier to use an Xbox one controller especially with windows 10 but the 360 controller
    is just better. And I would really like to use it if I can.

    Is your headset by any chance connected to your controller? If so then it's because the Xbox360 controller is not optimized to have a headset connected to it when it's connected to a pc

    Won't be a problem at all. sometimes I charge my controller from my laptop so my girlfriend doesn't yank my xbox on to the floor. Ocassionally I even plug it straight into a USB mains adapter. works fine whether using it to play on laptop or PC.

    alright thanks guys for taking time to reply. and WPAK i found official wireless recievers for quite cheap around £8 while the cheapest official wired controller i found was £25 new, so i thought i might as well put my wireless controllers to use now that
    i barely play my xbox. thanks again.
