Xbox360: connecting my offline profile so I can use DLC

Thanks for reaching out to the forums. We understand you are wanting to make your offline profile a gamertag profile. Here

is a guide on how to accomplish this.

To convert your offline profile into a gamertag, make sure that you have a Microsoft account available that's not currently associated with another gamertag.

1. Sign in to the profile that you want to convert from an offline profile to a gamertag.
2. Press the Guide button
    to bring up the mini-guide.
3. Go to Settings and then select
   Profile.
4. Select Join Xbox Live.
5. Enter your first name.
6. Enter your Microsoft account email address.
7. Enter your Microsoft account password.
8. Verify the information on the screen.
9. Verify the current privacy settings.
10. Review the
    Microsoft Services Agreement, and then select I accept.

I think there are a few exceptions to this rule though, such as Phantasy Star Universe which is subscription based; though I can't confirm this; but pretty much most of the time it's 1 download for all accounts on that console, however if you move the account
to another console, it will no longer apply.

For example, I've bought all of the DLC for Dance Central on my Xbox; which had my account on it, and also an account for my Mother; I bought her an Xbox/Kinect bundle for Crimbo and transferred her profile to the new console; at this stage, she won't be
able to use the DLC, despite her account being created on my Xbox360; however if her account, or any account used on my Xbox360, (such as if my mate bought his profile round on a USB stick, or a friend recovered their profile to my Xbox360; they'd be able
to use the same DLC).

But if you took your profile round to a friends house, you wouldn't be able to use the DLC purchased on your profile; as rightfully pointed out, 99% is based on a license for the console).

Some of them only apply if the console is connected to Xbox Live mind, but most of it can be used whenever.

Hi, some DLC will come up with that error if the console is not connected to Xbox Live. The DLC needs to be verified online to use it. Could you try connecting the offline console to Live and see if you get the same error.

- Regarding licences you should be able to use your DLC so long as the profile that downloaded it is signed in but as I said some DLC will need to be verified online.
