Xbox360 cannot read update from storage device.... I I purchased a brand new hard drive 500 ...

I did not realize my Xbox 360 did not have an internal hard drive. I purchase a 500 MB hard drive and still come up with the same error code. Xbox support does not recognize their own error code. Any help would certainly be appreciated

After transfering with Hard Drive transfer cable from old drive to new xbox 360 slim with not load new games

I transfered from old xbox360 hard drive to new xbox360slim hard drive by xbox360 hard drive transfer cable. everything went ok.

then tried to load a new game opened sealed box xbox360 shows reading then open tray. Tried a another brand new game same thing.

Rehooked up drives shows old drive empty buy the content does not show on new xbox360 slim screen.

and the games that were already on new xbox360slim will load game from disc and play.

reads game disc and plays. But will not read new games. Please Help.

Turn off your console.

Remove all console storage devices, including any USB flash drives, external hard drives, or the internal hard drive on the Xbox 360 S console. Learn how to remove the hard drive.

Add your primary storage device, for example, the hard drive.

Turn on the console

Try updating the console again.

If you notice that your Hard Drive cannot properly update and causes issues, I would suggest removing it completely and trying again. If you notice it working after that, I would suggest replacing your Hard Drive, as it may be the issue here. Let me know how

Im sorry i meant 500Gb hard drive, But I’m sure most of you understood what I meant

Also on start up, it comes up with the little green logo of Xbox and then go straight to the, “system update stopped” screen.

It appears that the storage device is not registering an update needed for your Xbox 360 console.

A suggestion here, follow this process:

1. Clear the system cache. To do this, see the "Clear the system cache" section above.
   
2. Roll back and then reinstall system updates. To do this:
   1. Press the Guide button on your controller.
   2. Go to settings and select System.
   3. Select Storage.
   4. Enter the following button sequence: X, LB, RB, X, LB, RB, X.
      
   5. Select the option to roll back all system updates that are installed. The console will restart automatically and then download the updates again.
      

After attempting this, if said steps fail to resolve the situation it is recommended to format the hard drive:

Format a storage device

Important When you format a storage device, it erases all of the information saved on that device, which can’t be recovered. Make sure that you don’t want the information stored on that device, or that you’ve backed up the information to
another device before you continue.

To format a storage device

1. Press the Guide button on your controller, go to Settings, and select
   System Settings.
   
2. Select Storage or Memory.
   
3. Select the storage device that you want to format, and then press Y on your controller.
   
4. Select Format. You will see the following message:
   
   This will delete all content on this device. Do you wish to continue?
   
5. Select Yes to format the storage device.
   
6. If prompted to enter your console serial number, do so, and then select
   Done. This step helps guard against accidental formatting.
