    XBOX1X internal memory size concerns.


    I have been with xbox for at least 12 years (11yrs gold), given all the time and experience building consoles Microsoft should have hit the ground running with either a 2 - 4tb hd for the XBOX1X or a easily removable hd to support this consoles true power
    and sheer size of game downloads that we now experience. this is the only complaint in this new console. with all the info given about this console the internal memory size should have been a common sense no brainer. Yes I am aware (and own) of external hd's.
    however I like the small size of the new console and travel often with it the external hd just adds to whats in my go bag.

    Hi guys.

    After a long time of inactivity today my brother started to play on my Xbox360 and discovered that all my save and profile stored on the IM where lost. The data on the Externall HDD ( where his profile is ) seems intact only the one on the internal memory
    are lost.

    All the fuction seems run smooth but i'm quite sure the internal memory is broken. Since the console have expired it's warranty i was thinking to not actually do anyting for the failed IM.

    My question is: Will this cause any problem? Any possible sensible data is stored on that memory ( like sitem file ) or i can just create a new account on the HDD and ignore the problem?

    If u are asking: "Are u sure the IM is broken?" I'm quite sure of it, infact, last time i checked, it have 2.2 GB of free space even trougth it looks completely empty from the menu and the free space seem to decrease every time i turn on my console even
    without using the IM

    internal memory

    4 gig model has no hard drive its is internal flash memory like a usb drive but built in. you can add a 250 or 320 gig hard drive to it or use external flash drives up to 32 gig but those are your only options if the internal memory is failing, which is
    what it sounds like.

    XBOX1X internal memory size concerns.

    I use a Seagate 2TB external HDD with my One X, and it is smaller than my mobile phone so can`t see there being any problem transporting it around.

    I also wish they'd allow you to easily upgrade the internal drive. Given that they're not selling proprietary memory cards/units with the One, I assume the decision was down to security and/or cost.

    What size drive is It? If it's a 4gb drive, that's internal flash memory and not a hard drive. In order for backwards compatibility to work on a 360, it requires an official MS hard drive.

    There's a little door on the bottom of the console. That is where the hard drive would be. There should be a tab attached to the hard drive that will list the size of the drive.

    There could also be internal memory of 4GB or not. If you can turn on the console and check the system settings, it would show that memory as well.
