why is this thing so freaking hard to use!? Too complicated! Should be able to buy a gaming console for my kids to play, plug it up, and play the thing! Instead I spent lots of money, bought extra controller (which only one can do main functions), then had
to buy 2 headsets so both my boys can talk (which we have to do research in order to get 2nd controller to work with mic...still don't know how) had to buy Xbox live gold in order to do all things in the stupid games (still messes up and keep getting notices
as something's not right) have had to constantly reset the Xbox (with nothing happening) all I seem to be doing is getting online watching YouTube videos in order to try and figure this thing out. I got them the Xbox for Christmas and here it is basically
April! Can not figure out how to get NAT from strict to open (don't even know why it starts as strict if it HAS to basically be open in order to join things. Now we're getting notifications that party chat is blocked and to go to settings network to fix it
(when there's nothing in network to fix it!) Everything says it's all good! So aggravated and ready to get rid of this thing. Need to go back to the old days where you buy the thing, plug it up, put a game in, and play! Now it takes hours to download a stupid
game just to be able to play it! Which that takes up space on the Xbox so you have to buy more space if you want to play all your games. Basically it keeps me from spending even more money on y'all so I guess that's one good thing! I have to get on the Xbox
more than my kids just to try and figure stuff out for them, I'm over it. You need to make it easier for people who know nothing about Xbox to be able to use it, especially single mothers with kids who have no dad or males that can even help.

I'm incredibly sorry to see any frustrations around the set up process for the console. We're here to help, and hopefully I can break down a lot of what you are running into to get this all sorted out. If it's easier for you, you can always

contact us via phone directly to get some assistance from one of our phone agents.

You mention that you only have one controller that can do main functions. Is this occurring in the main menus/screens of the console, or is this in-game controls? There may be a problem with the second controller, and we'll want to narrow that down. The
first thing we can suggest without knowing more is ensuring
your controller's firmware is up to date. Let me know how things are with your controllers after that.

You then talk about the mic with the second controller. If your boys are in a game together, then they will likely need to be joined up in either Party Chat or Game Chat to have everyone hear them. I'll talk more on that when I get to your NAT issues. Knowing
when your boys are trying to use both headsets, and in what game, will help me determine what needs to be done to get you guys working.

Lastly, NAT. NAT is something that honestly the general public doesn't really understand. It means Network Address Translation, and it's what controls your internet connections, in a sense. Imagine it as telephone operator. Your IP address is a phone number,
and you are trying to call out to Xbox Live. NAT will work to make that connection from your home to Xbox Live by translating your IP address into something unique that Xbox Live will recognize as such. Since so many people are trying to call at the same time,
NAT works to ensure your IP address is heard and not lost in the jumble. Then it makes sure that the response that Xbox Live gives back isn't given to someone else's IP address on its way back to you. Strict NAT is that jumble, and it's making your connection
to Xbox Live not as ideal as we would like.

There are ways to fix it, but all of them involve logging in to your router. I am MORE than happy to walk you through it, however I will need to know the devices you use to connect to the internet. Here's what I will need from you:

• Your internet service provider
• Your modem's manufacturer and model number (the device you got from your ISP, normally)
• Your router's manufacturer and model number (you may have a single device you got from your ISP, and not a second network device you connect all the other devices in your house to)
• Detailed network statistics (you get this by going to Settings > All settings > Network > Network settings > Detailed network statistics)

These should get me a good place to start sorting this out with you!
