Xbox1 wont see NAS Music Folder

Xbox1 wont see my Music Folder yet sees Films and Music

I can select Play All and then it attempts to load my music but will not do it

I can play music by streaming of my laptop

Xbox One not seeing NAS

I have a hard drive on my Netgear WNDR4000 router. My computer can see all the files on the nas hard drive, but the xbox one only sees the first folder and first file in that folder. How can I fix this?

XBOX music and NAS

Hi,

I keep all my music on a NAS and not my laptop. With zune I could add the NAS network drive to allow me to add music to playlists. With XBOX Music it seems that the music has to be local and cannot image to the NAS. Am i missing something. I have to
add my music using Windows Media Center. Is there something I am mising?

Without you actually structuring your sentences in such a way that their is an actual question, there's not much else I can say.

For example you could have ended it with "can anyone help?" But you've just typed a lot of statements, so good for you dude, well done.

Check the name of the folder, names of any sub folders and the name of files within the folder as well. Sometimes folders or files containing special characters will be ignored. Even files containing multiple periods (.) can cause issue because the player
may not recognize the extension on the file

All I want to do with my XBOX and NAS is browse the folders located on the NAS and use the XBOX to play the movie via my home network. I've tried browsing folders using my XBOX ONE X, but all I see is folders and files actually located on the XBOX. How
do I use my XBOX ONE X to browse my local network and play a movie from my NAS?

Sad to say but you are out of luck. While the console will read music from devices plugged into the USB ports it wont read playlists. Then of course you can only create custom playlists from music stored on the hard drive.

Your only real option, which you don't seem to want to use, is the Guide Music Player. From there you can play all the music stored in a folder. So it would take you a little more time but you could put the playlist tracks into a folder and tell the Xbox to
just play that folder alone.

Hello BIONIC79,

Sorry for the delay in getting a response to you.

For music that was purchased through the Xbox Music app, in Windows Explorer open the Music folder, there should be an Xbox Music folder there.

For music that was downloaded with your Xbox Music Pass, in the same Music folder, look for a folder labeled Subscription. You'll find the downloaded files there.
