Xbox1 will not let me run my sky go extra app

xbox 1 will not let me run the sky go extra app

It will let me download the sky go installer.exe I click save After its finished downloading it aske to run then it says search for app in store we then click YES then it says Results for ".exe" No results found for this filtering

We cannot get any further

We subscribe for this app through sky and have spent 2 hours+ on the phone with them trying different way to get through all our parental blocks with sky have been lifted and we believe we have lifted the parental blocks on our xbox1 but still it will not
let us run the app.

Can you please help as this is our only method now of watching sky TV and at present we are paying for something we cannot use.

Are you on a PC just you mentioned the .exe file which you won't see on an xbox. On the xbox go to the apps section of the store and download it then once open add your sky id and password and away you go. If your on PC you can either go through the Microsoft
store and follow the same steps as above or go to sky.com and download it directly.

From how I understand it, the only way to access Sky Go is through the TV from Sky app on Xbox One and Series X|S consoles.

Xbox One and Series X|S console apps - some apps may not be available in your country/region.

Set up TV from Sky on your Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S - step by step guide, which also mentions:

Please be aware that Sky Go Extra is referred to as TV from Sky when downloading or selecting the app on your console.

So don’t listen to anything that says you need the Sky Go app, as this app isn’t available on Xbox consoles. I believe you can access the service through the Sky app on Xbox One, as long as you’re connected to Xbox Live and have Sky Go Extra on your Sky account.

The Sky Go app is available on compatible smartphones, tablets, laptops etc. Just not on consoles, which explains why you’re unable to find it on your Xbox One.

I did this for my friend because he wanted Sky and it does not cost me any extra on my Sky subscription, you can have a maximum of 2 xbox's registered to your Sky account.

Its up to you which 2 you put them on so if you trust your friend then go for it. I trust mine & he has not let me down.

And if you ever want to remove access just change the password for your Sky accounts log in.
