Xbox1 Mic not picking up my voice/noise - can only talk with kinect

This is why more people are on Xbox 360 still. Xbox 1 is fairly new almost 5 months since it released. I usually don't bother with the headset which came with my Xbox 1 and just use the Kinect for voice chat. It picks up my voice fine in games like Forza
5. I know with my friends on Xbox 360, it sounds like they're talking in an auditorium when they use their Kinect to talk. They sound WAAAAYYYYY better when using the mic, and since your mic and Kinect can pick up noise from your TV speakers (Kinect even more
so especially with 360's Kinect). There are headsets where you can chat and listen to game audio via the headset like turtle beach that way you can just mute your TV speakers. I blame the tooo "Windows 8" OS they included on an "Xbox" console.

but i will enjoy using voice commands, hand gestures, auto login/facial recognition, and the other ui features kinect provides. those are easily worth $100 to me. and i do think you need kinect for the voice commands, a standard mic only works for one person
and cannot distinguish between background noise. kinect can see who is talking and cancel out other noise.

then of course there is the potential of xbox fitness.

Ill have to try that, but I want to use the kinects mic for chat since I use headphones and my voice would be the only thing it will be picking up, but it isn't working....

I dont need to calibrate my samsung s5 it picks up my voice commands really well and my phone talks back to me. It has s voice thingy and google which both accept voice commands.

Try calibrating kinect follow the dashboard instructions and make sure it isnt picking up any noise like your parents friends pets other people or other noises. In other words it needs to be silent. Other than that it may be just your accent. A lot of other
peps have experienced issues with voice commands so your not alone.

Kinect voice is great if the mic is right in front of you or your luck enough to play in perfect silence. Why not integrate voice support with headsets. They are subject to far less ambient noise and would have a much clearer capture of the voice which in
theory should take less processing and reduce errors.

My Kinect is 9ft away above my TV and about 1ft away from my front left and right speakers. Thats a lot of background noise hitting the Mic and with me sitting so far away from it i can see it struggling to pick my voice out of that mess.

I hope it works though i loved issuing voice commands in Rainbow six and it does add something to the gameplay helps if flow better.
