XBox1 Kinect interferes with Samsung TV 3D active glasses

I just got my Xbox 1 with Connect and integrated it with my Samsung 3D TV, Yamaha audio system, Comcast Infinity One and Samsun DVD player. I found that there appears to be interference with the Kinect and the 3D glasses. The Kinect sits in front of and
below the TV for optimum coverage. When I use the active 3D glasses the 3D flashes on and off, like it loses signal. I initially though it was the batteries but the effect was observed on a second pair. I then moved the Kinect around within the cable limits
with no help. I the placed the Kinect facedown on the glass table that the TV is on and the glasses worked perfectly. I talked to Xbox technical support and never heard of this issue and suggested I post it. I don't know what signaling mechanism is used by
either and my "fix" appears to work. Just wanted to see if anyone else has observed this effect.

    :)

thats weird. I have a samsung 3dTV and no issues with the glasses at all. Sounds more like an issue with the glasses. I don't see how kinect could possibly effect the glasses. Kinect has an IR blaster so its possible it could interfere but then so could
any other IR device such as a TV remote.

    Kinect interferes with 3d glasses

Thought my rechargeable 3d glasses were goosed until I have just realised that the kinects infrared interferes with the signal from the telly to switch the glasses on. Looked at the kinect sensor guide which says this. USE WITH INFRARED DEVICES The Kinect
sensor may interfere with or degrade operation of infrared devices, including remote controls and 3D glasses. If you notice interference or reduced range, please try repositioning the Kinect sensor or infrared device. So how do they plan to run bluray 3d.
Surely the Xbox one needs a 3d feature that switches off kinects infrared. Regards mark

I'm pretty sure I know what's going on. Your 3D glasses are active shutter synced via IR pulses meaning they dim one eye while one frame is displayed and IR signal and vice versa. In order to stay synced with the TV they use IR light for communication like
your basic TV remote. Thing about the Xbox One Kinect is that to see and track you as best as possible and also act as an IR blaster to controller other media center components it emits a lot of IR light. This extra IR light must be getting picked up by your
active shutter 3D glasses and making them lose synchronization do to interference.

One thing you can do is cover the front face of the Kinect to block it's IR light. A simple folded cardboard paper cover that doesn't cover the vents, but the front face should allow you to keep it on while using your 3D glasses while retaining the voice
features of the Kinect. Might be able to even leave small opening so the regular color camera on the Kinect will still work. That way won't have to move it and possibly have to calibrate it as often. The IR blasting functions like Xbox volume up/down/mute
or having it turn on and off other equipment won't work though. I wouldn't cover it completely when it's on like with a cloth since it does need some ventilation.

It should be noted that if your 3DTV uses active 3d glasses via an IR emitter, then you will have to DISABLE Kinect 2 because of IR interference. I noticed that Kinect 2 caused my 3D glasses to STOP working when I tried to watch a 3D movie on my 3DTV (via
a 3d Blu-ray player of course), I had to disable my XBOX One's Kinect to get the 3D glasses to work.

Question about 3D: can I get 3D from my tv?

Does your Samsung TV have a "3D Ready" or "3D input" on the back of the TV? The reason I ask is that I have a 42" Samsung Plasma that you can purchase a separate adapter for viewing 3D movies and games. It's a box that is able to talk to the Active Shutter
glasses. I looked into purchasing one though, and they weren't cheap at the time. Wasn't really that big of a deal for me at the time.
