Xbox1 controller right stick issue

Both our controllers no longer have working right sticks. This happened suddenly and they were working perfectly well before. I have even bought a brand new controller and have the same problem.

In magnifier mode the xbox allows the right stick to move the screen around (works as normal). (Magnifier mode has not been left switched on).

This sort of points to a software or firmware issue.

We've done a hard reset (pressing and holding the xbox console button for 10 seconds), done an application reset both keeping game data and a full wipe. I've also updated the firmware on the controllers and also turned the xbox one power off at the socket and left it for 15 minutes before turning the power back on again.

None of these things have resolved the issue.

Can anyone come across this or can offer a suggestion?

Just to be clear. When you bought a new controller did you have the same problem right away? Or after a few weeks/months of use, the controller had the same problem?

That's odd. If you connect these controllers to your phone and play using xCloud or Remote Play, does the same thing happen?
