Xbox1 connectivity

My laptop, phone, and roommates phone are connected to one of our two wifis.

I have trouble connecting my xbox to either wiif.

Need help!

Info about Play & Charge kit

Hello everyone!!

I need a small and simple test before spending money in this kit.

Microsoft say that the XBox1 controller while is connected by cable each input runs through the cable
like i wired controller and not through Wi-Fi.

I tried with many different (not original) cables connected in the USB port of different devices
but always the Xbox1 turn on.
That means that the controller is powered by cable but input always through Wi-fi.

The test is:
Connect your Xbox1 controller without battery inside with the original cable to your PC,
and try to turn on the consolle.

I ask this because i want i wired controller.

The console work properly if you cable it to the modem/router? In case follow this guide.

Not an option. The router is in the seperate living space next door, its my land lords. His router and internet.

 

Are the two WiFi network broadcasting on different channels (which they should), or are they broadcasting on the same channel, or channels that overlap? Be aware, that only the channels 1, 6 and 11 are not overlapping.

What exactly prevents you from connecting to the other WiFi? Do you get an error message? Or does the second WiFi not show up in the list of wireless networks?

 

I do not know which channel(s) they broadcast on.

Its showing up in the list of networks, then ill get a messge saying not all “something” avaikale right now.

Some times ill connect, get in-game, and before i go online in game itll say ive lost xonnection to their servers.

Ill be playing in-game, connected online and then be kicked out of the server and ill be signed out of my profile.

 

Could you try and check what this "something" is that isn't available?

From how you describe these disconnects (meaning you get kicked out of the server AND your profile), this sounds a lot like WiFi interference causing the disconnection.

This can happen when one or more WiFi networks overlap or broadcast on the same channel. Similar to walkie-talkies, if one device broadcasts a message, all other devices can't broadcast themselves.

So if multiple different WiFi networks are "talking" on the same broadcast channel, this can cause interruptions on other WiFi networks.

Also, other wireless devices that broadcast in the 2.4GHz frequency range of most WiFi networks, this can also cause disconnects. For example wireless baby monitors, garage door openers, cordless phones and even microwave ovens can disturb a WiFi signal.

 

It can be that the wifi signal gets weak at the location where you've your Xbox. Does your phone remains connected to internet when its almost at the same location aa your Xbox. Don't just check whether you're still connected to wifi but try to browse
a site. I'm suspecting you may need to invest in a better router that has longer range and can keep the signal strong.

It could be the range of the signal, so some packets are being lost.

 

Could it be an issue with the xbox itself?

Although the console is able to connect to Xbox Live, there are connection quality issues, such as poor streaming quality, random disconnects, or slow performance. All of these types of issues fall under
multiplayer connection errors (even if multiplayer gaming is not involved).

Run cmd on your Windows machine and type the following command:

netsh wlan show interfaces

This will give some understanding of the network you're connected to.
