Xbox / xbox games pass android apps microphone issue

Hi, when using either of the Xbox apps on android to either remote play or xcloud stream on my phone and using either Bluetooth or wired headset/headphones, I have notice that when you create or join a party chat and select 'Unmute' in the top left on screen
menu button that both apps use the phone microphone and not the headset/headphones microphone even though the game and chat audio is coming out of the headset. This can be especially annoying for the other people in the party as all they can head is clicking
of buttons or the moving of the analogue sticks.

I have tried this with 2 Samsung phones and a oneplus phone. Tried Bluetooth with Samsung galaxy buds plus and SteelSeries arctis 9x, wireless with SteelSeries arctis 3 and Samsung wired headphones. And tried with the Xbox series x controller, razer kishi
and 8bitdo sn30 pro xbox edition, all with the same results.

Anyone have any idea if there is a way to get the apps to switch microphones?

    Many thanks!

    :)

Xbox App on Android Will not use microphone from headphones

Hello, I'm Felipe and I'm an independent Community Advisor, and I'll do my best to help you.

Here are a few things you can try to fix the issue with the Xbox App not using the microphone from your Bluetooth headphones on your Android device:

Check Permissions: Make sure that the Xbox App has permission to access your microphone. You can check this in your Android device settings, under "Apps & notifications" and then "App permissions". Find the Xbox App and make sure that the microphone permission is enabled.

Restart Devices: Try restarting both your Android device and your Bluetooth headphones. This can sometimes resolve connectivity issues.

Clear App Cache: Clearing the app cache can help fix issues with apps on Android devices. You can do this in your Android device settings, under "Apps & notifications" and then "See all apps". Find the Xbox App and select "Storage & cache", then select "Clear cache".

Reinstall the App: If the above steps don't work, you can try uninstalling and reinstalling the Xbox App on your Android device. This can help resolve any issues with the app.

Contact Support: If none of the above steps work, you can try contacting Xbox Support for further assistance. They may be able to provide additional troubleshooting steps or identify any issues with the app or your Bluetooth headphones.

Hi Dave L, my name is Adam.

I’m sorry to hear that you’re having trouble connecting your Xbox Wireless Controller to your Android phone while using the Xbox Game Pass app. Here are some steps that you can try to resolve the issue:

    1. Make sure that your Xbox Wireless Controller is updated to the latest firmware version. You can do this by connecting your controller to your PC and using the Xbox Accessories app to check for updates.

    2. Ensure that your Android phone is running on Android 11 or later, as the Xbox Game Pass app requires this version of Android to work properly.

    3. Try resetting your Xbox Wireless Controller by holding down the pairing button on the back of the controller for 10 seconds, then re-pairing it with your Android phone.

    4. If none of the above steps work, try uninstalling and reinstalling the Xbox Game Pass app on your Android phone.

    I hope this helps.
    Adam.

ERROR CODE 1170000 WHEN TRYING TO LOG IN ON ANDROID DEVICE.

Are you trying to log into a game or the Xbox App? If you're on Android, and trying to log into the Xbox or Game Pass app, I'd recommend searching the store for "Xbox (Beta)" or "Game Pass (Beta)" and see if you get the same error there.

Is the error code an Android system error or an App error you're getting? Also, can you provide the make and model of your phone and what version of Android you're running?
