    Xbox/Xbox 360 Backwards Compatibility

Hi all, I would like to know if it is possible to create an Xbox One that has the ability to run Xbox 360 software. When microchips shrinks, is it not possible to include a seperate pcb board that contains the hardware required to run Xbox 360 (and possibly
original Xbox) games? The Xbox One unit would not need to be shrunk. Maybe have the machine OS boot-up as usual and have a TAB that boots to the original Xbox or Xbox 360. I appreciate any answers given Xbox/Xbox 360 Backwards Compatibility :)

    :)

I have all 3 systems but it is a little impractical besides the electric and space wasted to setup systems when we could just have 1 out in use on display.

Unfortunate for those offline if an emulator was created for use on the cloud to run Xbox/X360 games. Having an XB1 that could run backwards compatibility would only benefit those interested in playing older games but if their dlc is accessible online then
it will not be lost, especially in near future when concentration is paid more towards XB1.

I would like to hope that Microsoft could help all those (like myself) somehow have the ability to access their dlc and bought X360 games using only the XB1, even if there's an option to purchase a new XB1 with built-in Backwards Compatiblity

Developers are not doing a lot of games for the 360 so soon you will be forced to just play old 360 games and if you want new games be forced to buy an X1. I don't play on line and single player is getting few and far between so I will just have to play
the old 360 games I already have and buy used ones that peak my interest.

My son and i are going retro collecting all our favourite original xbox games, we can link-up using our xbox and X360 consoles. This has caused upset in home as more devices are filling the room and is why i brought up this discussion.

To keep others happy...my son sold his XB1 to allow space for the original xbox!!!! Mainly cuz we don't want to say goodbye to our fav classics that cannot play on the XB1.

Not to say we won't be purchasing new XB1 games (10 i'm looking forward to owning, esp. F1 2015 on my Birthday) but would love to of had the choice of playing all 3 generations on 1 console

I have all of my classic games for Xbox, Xbox 360, and am building my library for the Xbox One. You are not kidding when you say it takes up space. Not to mention the crazy amount of wires. However, if you start modding and hacking the system (despite
your intentions) you put yourself at risk with Xbox Live's Terms of use and CoC. Unless you never plan on signing into Xbox Live again.

I think my 2nd original xbox was modded but like you say...not able to go live so i sold it!

Besides, i prefer to see all my games on display so i can admire the box art when choosing what to play and update games when available.

Tho xbox games are dated and achievements don't exist, i still see myself wanting to play the classics in another decade.

Who knows...maybe next gen will be capable of running this gen if x86 is the ideal way

I absolutely agree with you. I have a large chest with all of my OG Xbox classics, Xbox 360 and Xbox One games in there. To name a few..the original Splinter Cell to Blacklist. The original Max Payne, Path of Neo, Dead to Rights.... Freedom Fighters
to Mercenaries, Shenmue 2 to Fable 1, 2, and 3. Lost Odyssey to Dragon Age Inquisition.... I also love seeing my collection.

While backwards compatibility is nice. I just don't think I could get rid of my systems.

  11. I have boxes full of original xbox games and literally hundreds of ps2 and ps1 games...

I am just waiting for that day that these next gen consoles become backwards compatible.

I will sell the lot and make a fortune, right now they are worthless.

  13. I played every ps1 and 2 game to death when those consoles were current gen.

I never really had the xbox console at the time but have gathered a collection over the years from car boot sales.

I have sold loads of the top ps1 titles on ebay already, as those could be played on the ps3, and actually made a lot of money doing so.

Everything else is nicely packed away in boxes waiting for that day they are worth something, or they can easily be thrown into a skip.
