XBOX X Overheating on PuBG

I have an original XboX Purchased in Nov 2017 with the warranty expiring January of 2019. Over the past few weeks i have experienced the console "overheating" and shutting itself down. I thought, Ok lets try a few things:

1. Cleaned Vents/Grills and made sure it was properly ventilated (never moved positions and never had this issue before)

-Game still crashed.

2. Ok that did not work so perhaps the game is drawing too much and i need to cool it, i purchased a Xbox designed cooling fan and run it at high speed

-Game still crashed.

3. Ok that did not work so perhaps i can lighten the load on the CPU and installed an SSD drive to move the game

-Game still crashed

NOTE: The console is ice cold during the entire "overheating" message and xbox shut off.

A few problems here, obviously with it being out of warranty MS swears i will need to pay $249 to have it repaired (BIG PROBLEM) I purchased the unit brand new for $500, i find it hard to believe that a multi-billion dollar company would handle customer
service like this. Please note: if i purchased the extended warranty (i think its $50) i would still be under warranty and we would not have the discussion.

I spoke to multiple representatives from MS and each one swears nothing can be done, how is this possible? its a well known fact that with the first gen XBX consoles the thermal paste fails and causes system overheating.

-I would rather not disassemble the console and fiddle with components to reapply thermal paste.

-I have uninstalled and resinstalled the game

-I have cleaned the persistent storage and reset the xbox (with games kept) to factory default.

Thanks for the response, maybe I was unclear on the post, I have the XBOX X, just from the original launch. I have done everything I can do including contacting MS, little frustrating when it's outside of warranty less than a year and they refuse to
address the problem that is well known from the first batch. Other say try replacing the thermal paste, MS will fix it I'm sure for $249 , when brand new consoles are $349. The math doesn't add up, you would think being first of the lot paying $500+ for
the console with a company being a multi-billion dollar business a replacement would not be out of the question.

I’ve had the same issue. Other than my son playing Roblox pretty frequently and myself playing it for maybe 3 hours at a time max, mine overheated and is now unusable. Took it for some repairs at a local vendor and diagnosed it. Ive barely had it for 1
1/2 years and pretty disappointed its already out of warranty. Sucks paying $500 for a “better” console for it to fail so soon.

I have heard of this issue before on other games as well but those have been patched, It's likely just the part of the game but giving this false Overheating warning. have you tried contacting the game devs on it in case, there is a issue with game since
there is 2 different settings for xbox one X and xbox one s game settings causing the console itself to crash giving this false over heat switch off.

I was going to suggest a factory reset but see you've already tried that. The only other thing I can suggest is to try plugging it into a wall socket if it's plugged into a power bar.

Other than that you may be experiencing wear and tear on the console and it may need to be replaced. I'm afraid that Xbox no longer supports the original console so you would not be able to send it in for repairs.
