Xbox x not recoding on hard drive anymore

So, if I were to get the updated Xbox Series X port of a game, either by buying the upgrade or via Smart Delivery, I wouldn’t be able to play it on the external hard drive anymore? Because I’m pretty sure that the Xbox Series X is compatible with accessories
from the current gen, like an Xbox One controller. Wouldn’t that include hard drives, so you would be able to use them for next gen games?

So the hard drive is working fine on the xbox one and the laptop. So I dont believe it is the hard drive.

Now it isnt even appearing as plugged in anymore.

Only shows my gaming hard drive as plugged in.

I've changed plugs. I've changed which ones is plugged into. My pc repair friend came over and looked and the hard drive itself is perfect or it wouldn't be working on the xbox one or laptop either.

After I posted this I looked on the net to find on this site a few others with the same issues. So by the looks it is definitely xbox that's the problem. I'm currently moving all games to the game hard drive and going to reset the xbox and see if that helps.

Same Here - Have to ask - when will the digital version be available to buy and download on XBOX ONE x ??

I have the disk but prefer to have all games on Hard drive so I don't have to use discs anymore and thus just play at anytime.

I did try both, with the Hard Drive and Without the Hard Drive. Both of these situation freezed my xbox.

I will call Xbox because they say my Hard Drive isn't under warranty anymore, 6 months after I bought it. This is absolutely stupid.

yes you can play all your games from your hard drive you can plug a 3.0 hard drive in to the new xbox series x and can copy xbox series x games to the hard drive but you will need to copy them back to the xbox if you want to play them again
