    XBOX X-No Sound


    I just bought a XBOX X. I am trying to connect it to my projector with stereo and surround sound. I get picture but no sound. I have tried several tutorials. I have also replicated my connection for my apple tv-same HDMI, stereo settings, etc. My apple TV has worked fine with no issues so I know everything should work as far as stereo

    I then hooked the XBOX to an old tv I have. still no sound. Traditional tv set up with HDMI.

    I then hooked it up to a newer tv in my living room. It worked fine. So the XBOX is working as it should. Is there a known issue with older (7-10 years old) tv's? I really want it hooked into my theater equipment.

    I do not believe 1.4 will work. I tried another hdmi cable I had and the picture was snowy.

    It doesn't quite work out that way. Get a HDMI 1.4 cable and see if that makes a difference

    Hello, My name is Jesse. I'm an Independent Advisor and a member of the Microsoft community and I'd love to assist you today.

    The Series X is a next gen console and it doesn't work well with older TVs/Monitors. Issues like no video signal and no sound usually pop up when using older displays. I'm not sure if this is a known issue but it is something I know from experience.
