I spent $21 and it charged me twice. Why does it charge me twice this is not the first time this has happened.

I found a workaround for the moment, and a potential software issue related to the latest Xbox One update:

Since I found out that the console wouldn't read the discs (games, always games) on the ''first time'', and I had to restart it (this works 100% of the times) so it detects the disc, I thought: maybe it has problems ''waking up'', so to say. Like it doesn't
really turn on correctly the first time, then the second time it does. This led me to think: I'm using the power saving mode, which turns the console off completely. What if I switched to ''Instant on'' which keeps it on some kind of stand by mode?

Since I tried that, the console reads the discs correctly. It didn't solve the problem at all, I tried to switch back to energy saving and it went back to not reading discs, but I think this proves that there's actually something wrong with the software
that is affecting my console and making it unable to read discs on the first try while in energy saving mode.

So that's where I'm at right now: instant on works perfectly, I have zero issues with this power mode, but as soon as I go back to energy saving, the problem occurs. For now, I'll wait a few weeks until the next update and see if the problem was solved.

Meanwhile, anyone here has any idea why this could mean?

I’ve sent in my xbox series x twice now, waiting for the 3rd one to arrive. You definitely wont get the same xbox back. If the xbox doesn’t work this time I have to switch to the series S or goto playstation. (Game disc wouldn’t read, it would crash constantly.. or home screen me)

It actually does. I got the Series X this holiday at $349, and the same disc is working perfectly. I have determined that the Xbox One X disc drive is trying to read Cross Gen discs differently than Xbox One discs. The disc drive on the Series X doesn’t have this issue. You might need a new disc or you might need to send your Series X for maintenance.
