Xbox won't update when off

So I just bought an xbox one S, eveyrhings updated but when I try to sign in a circle appears then goes off and comes back then goes off, I have factory reseted twice and still won't work

When I try to sing in and play Minecraft it won't let me

Also it is automatically set to update, in fact it updated this morning when I turned it off and back on and the game still won't let me log in

When you turned it off (not full power cycle off) how long did you leave it off? About 2 hours ago, I turned mine off and left it off for an hour. When I came back the Xbox had already powered down and when I manually turned it back on the update was installing.
The update only downloads when it is in stand-by mode. Additionally, if you turn on your Xbox before the update is completed it won't install. So the only recommendation I can make is turn it off via a quick press of the console touch button (or controller
turn off) and leave it off for a short period of time until you notice it goes off of standby mode into a full power down.

This was happening to me. What you need to do it clear your cache, then on the HDD hit LB, RB, X, LB, RB, X. When it restarts do not update, just shut off your xbox. Next, download the update to your computer, unzip it, burn to a cd, then put that cd
into the xbox. When it starts it will ask you to update, hit yes. This worked for me, does not require xbox live connection so you won't get the error. If you do not use the LB, RB, X thing, the update won't download.
