    Xbox wont update to the latest version of Omega


    Yesterday i joined Xbox Insider Hub, and can't undestand why my Xbox Series X wont update to the latest version.
    As i see from offiscal web site release notes: the latest version now is XB_FLT_2208NI\22621.1763.220729-2200.
    But my console shows me XB_FLT_2206co.220715-1530 in description of selected Xbox Update Preview Omega.
    May be i miss something , can somebody explain me what i doing wrong.

    Are you sure that the game has been updated to the latest version?
    the only update i get is 4k and it wont install

    Have you tried to power cycle your console? yes

    Have you a stable (an fast) internet connection? yes

    If you are using an external HDD, have you checked that is 100% working? yes

    I am relatively sure that something is wrong with my latest update, my console is the day one xbox one version. i am in omega xbox insider program. i cant do an offline update to reset my console because cant find any
    OSU file suitable for my os version. my os version is 10.019041.3068. and on xbox.com the latest post is May 2020 update. if i can, i dont want have to reset my xbox ...

    These are the latest Xbox OS and also the Beta, Delta and Omega rings of Insider Preview Program are also on the latest release
    to General Availability builds.

    Updates taking too long

    You can't skip the update if you connect to Xbox Live. When you connect, the console will always want to update to the latest version of the game. The only way is to play offline, then the console wont download the update for the game you want to play.

    That is actually not a bad idea. Staying in the Omega ring has very low risk. But in case something does go wrong, one can still revert the firmware update if it was still an omega version. And then block firmware updates until a fix is available.

    The main issue with this broken firmware release is that there is no way to roll back to an older firmware version.
