Xbox won't update even after a reset and is now unusable

I have went thru the exact same problem and my system was perfect before this update happened. This is not acceptable and we should be compensated and/or have the Xbox repaired at the cost of Microsoft. I’ve waited for two days to talk to managment and have been on hold for far too long. I’m disappointed and let down. A company of this size should have this figured out instead of saying the Xbox should be repaired… It is not a hardware issue for me one day perfect next day update sent and cant use the Xbox…. Not acceptable!

Sorry to hear about what happened there with the console.

I believe that the console is not taking anymore updates and this happens mostly if the Xbox is already having issues on it's hardware. None of the Xbox updates will break your console but if in any case that the Xbox is trying to update, it may mean that the Xbox got the update deleted for some reason and it could no longer get an update due to some issues with the system.

I also believe you have done everything to try and fix the console from updating, offline update and resetting the console are the last options and if those steps will not work, I would already suggest having the console repaired.

Just posting so this gets more attention. Same exact problem here and followed your exact steps - over the phone with a MS tech support rep. After a factory reset (keeping my apps & games), I'm stuck with an unusable box for the time being because it won't
update.

Iv'e had the same issue for 4 days now. Can't access any games, as there all online games, i can't even play offline. Sort it soon please, about to unsub, not paying for a service i'm not allowed to use.

This is quite an odd case indeed. I understand that you have already exhausted all the possible workarounds, but we will need to isolate the case further. Have you tried signing into a different Xbox account to see if it works?

Since you have tested your wireless connection and it doesn't work, try to use an ethernet cable for a network wired connection.

Also, since you have mentioned that you can't access the Xbox game pass games, kindly try to confirm if you have an active Xbox game pass subscription on your account by signing on to account.microsoft.com > services and subscription.
