    Xbox wont turn on.


    Hello, I woke up this morning and my Xbox would turn on for about 5 seconds and then power off completely. So I researched for about 2 hours and tried every single method, none worked.

    So I then unplugged everything and plugged the power supply into a different outlet: didn’t work. And that caused the Xbox to completely turn off. Now, when I press the Xbox button, it doesn’t turn on even for a few seconds. It just does nothing. No sound. So I tried the other buttons: disc eject, Xbox controller etc. and none worked.

    I’ve looked at at least 100 YouTube videos and none have helped. It’s like my Xbox has just given up. And I am not able to factory reset it because it won’t even turn on or make any sound. Here’s a list of the things I’ve tried:

    Unplugging and plugging back in

    Different PSU

    Cleaning dust

    Power cycle

    Leaving it for 10-30 minutes

    None of these methods have worked and it’s literally driving me crazy. My PSU is at orange meaning it has a good power supply. So I’m really stuck. Can anyone help? The Xbox is also 6 years old so no longer in warranty.

    Have tried that. Also tried plugging xbox into different outlets. The usb for my wireless headset turns on but the xbox wont turn on. There seems to be power going to the usb ports but again, the xbox wont power on.

    One thing to try is to plug the Xbox directly into a wall outlet. Some people who initially had their system connected to a power strip or surge protector found that this actually fixed their problem.

    Yeah I already looked into that and because I've had it for more then a year its out of warranty and is gonna cost me $115 to have it done. :(

    If you can try that if the console works then the power supply was the thing that went out.
