Xbox wont turn on properly

Ok so bear with me, I really need some help. For the last 3 months my xbox one has been having issues including

1. Power button flashing and something makes a clicking noise

2. Xbox one doesnt start up when turned on with controller or power button on the front, goes to the trouble shoot screen.

3. Once on the trouble shoot screen, you can do nothing, but if you unplug the power cord and plug it back in it then starts up fine.

4. But, eventually the powercord trick doesn't work and one of the times you fo this you'll be met with the "preparing your console screen" meaning srtting it all back up signing in, redownloading and logging into apps, games etc...

Games and apps seem to run fine on it.

So, its driving me mad. I'm not really well off and this is kinda my only source of entertainment. I have no idea how to fix it and have been scouring google for help. So far the only advice I've gotten is to clean it thoroughly (which i did and it functioned
well for a week) or that my console is dead. Please will somone help me, point me in the right diection, anything.

Hey there Killa! Your research was correct, that this can be a result of Cloud Storage saving, but it does also happen on most consoles as well. This is a normal part of the shut down process, but it should only last for a minute or two. After that, it will
shut down on its own. I don't recommend disconnecting the console from power source until it finishes the shut down process. Let me know if this helps, thanks!

Have you changed the power mode of you xbox so that when you turn it off it is actually turning off, and not going into "instant on" mode?

If it's set to "instant on" mode you can alternatively just hold the power button down on the front of the console for 5 seconds to completely shut down your xbox.

If you have your Xbox in 'Instant-on Power Mode' it is supposed to have a white light. Not sure about the fan noise, which seems to come from the brick itself.

Mine won't turn off unless I place a disc in the tray - otherwise it just restarts itself irrespective of power mode setting
