Xbox Won't Turn On Or Off Reciever Phillips Sound Bar HTL4115B/F7 Volume and Mute Work!

I have a Phillips HTL4115B as well and finally got it to work after testing all similar model numbers. Instead of entering the remote code, go to Audio receiver setup > "Philips" > Next > Enter It > "HTL5100/F7" > Next

Should have volume up, volume down, and power toggle (if enabled in device power options) all working perfectly now.

Also, as for this tip:

Press the Xbox Guide button on the Xbox 360 controller.

Scroll right to Settings.

Select Preferences.

Select Voice.

Make sure that the Mute option is not selected. To turn off the Mute option, select Mute, and then press the A button.

Increase the volume. To do this, select the volume bar, and then press the D-pad or the left stick."

I don't have this option "Mute" under the Voice menu...

Well I'm not sure if this is useful or not but here it goes:

I own a RCA Kevlar sound system (old but really great sound)

I hooked it up to my TV and tried to get it to work through the xbox.

The first code muted the system and the volume worked, When I turned the Xbox off, so did my sound system.

However, when I turned everything back on it would switch to AM radio. So annoying.

I attempted the audio device setup on xbox again, skipped the first code this time as well as the second one (didn't work)

The third once again muted and controlled the volume. This time the xbox couldn't turn the receiver off though.

After ripping my hair out, I realized that I never turned on the toggle setting for the audio device. Once I did that it worked like a charm. Stays on AUX with the second code that worked. The first one that worked was turning my sound system on and off
without the toggle being on.

My advice would be to select "no" the first time it asks if the mute function worked, even if it does. Try to see if another code will work and make sure you have the toggle on.

In my experience the Xbox One Kinect is often not able to turn sound bars on and off.

There is an issue with the remote codes for sounds bars on many universal remote controls not just the Xbox one. If you can locate a code online, you can try entering it but this may be limited to volume and not powering on/off

I have a Vizio 5.1 sound bar. Volume controls work, but no on/off. WHY?!? D;
