    Xbox won't turn on and makes a clicking noise.


    Today I was using my Xbox One and it froze mid-game. It did not turn off when I pressed the power button so I unplugged it. Now it will not even start up. When I press the power button, the light on the console lights up and the light on the power brick
    turns white but it does not actually boot up. It is also making a clicking noise (in the Xbox, not the power brick). Is this recoverable or do I have to get it serviced?

    I have the older white pro console. I think the power supply is done because the light keeps blinking and it's making a clicking noise. The xbox won't even turn on

    So my xbox is making a clicking noise and won't turn on, this started happening after I attempted to hard restart when a disc randomly stopped working. The machine itself has plenty of ventilation.

    I've tried unplugging all the power connections and trying it again, Ive tried resetting the power brick and nothing is working.

    The console is basically a launch console, I got it close to launch.

    Its not an x or s just the base Xbox One.

    I've heard of an issue with consoles purchased before 2014 where a clicking noise would occur but I can't find any fixes other than just get a new one.

    I'd really appreciate any help you can give me.

    If you already try after unplugin everything for 30 secondes and its still not working you should call customer support.

    Thanks for reaching out here in Xbox Forums. I understand there is an issue with the Xbox console. Sounds like it may be a hardware issue.

    To help clarify the issue:

    • What Xbox console do you have?
    • When does the noise happen?
    • Does it happen when you play a disc game?
    • Is the console in a well-ventilated area?

    I have read quite a few articles with people stating the exact same issue, and it seems in every case to be something going on with the fan. It doesn't seem to be a detrimental issue but if you would like it serviced the best thing to do would be to send
    it in (as you well know). I hope this helps in the very least knowing this is a common "issue".
