Xbox wont turn on after unplugging power cord while Xbox light was flashing

So I downloaded the new update for preview members, and have been experiencing slight problems. Today it was freezing up on my little brother and tried to turn it off using his controller, tried turning it off, that didn't work either. So he turned off the
xbox by pushing the power button and the screen changed so he thought it worked. Apparently it the power light was still flashing grey and white for 5 minutes before he decided to unplug the power cord from the Xbox. Now we can turn it on but the screen says
no signal as if it can't connect even though my hdmi cable is intact and securely in place. Please Help!

    :)

One of the four lights surrounding your Xbox 360 power button flashes red - solutions

If one of the four lights surrounding your Xbox 360 power button flashes red, you might receive following error code:

    E74
    E66
    E68
    E69
    E70

Or you might not see any picture on the screen.

If you see the error code E74, your console needs to be repaired.

But if you see the other codes mentioned above or no picture on the screen, follow the steps bellow to troubleshoot the problem:

    Step 1

Disconnect and reconnect your power supply cords

You may see one flashing red light after turning on your Xbox 360 console if the power supply cords are not plugged in properly. So, you need to reset your power supply.

    Here is how:

    • First you need to turn off your console.
    • You’ve to disconnect the power cord from the back of your console. You also have to unplug the power cord from the wall outlet and the power supply unit.
    • Now you need to reconnect all three connections. You must ensure that the connections are secured.
    • Finally, turn your console back on.
If the problem exists, follow the next step:

    Step 2

    Remove your hard drive

Hard drive failure might be the reason of one flashing red light. To check if this is true, remove your hard drive temporarily.

See: How to remove and reattach Xbox 360 hard drive

Note: Not all Xbox 360 consoles include a hard drive.

After removing the hard drive, turn your console back on. If there is no flashing light, there is a problem with your hard drive. But if the light still flashes red reattach the hard drive and follow the next step.

    Step 3

Remove memory units and USB flash drives

Faulty memory unit or USB flash drive might causes the error. If you’re using a memory unit or USB flash drive, you need to remove it.

To remove your memory units or USB flash drives, you need to turn off the console. After removing the memory units or USB flash drives, turn your console back on.

If this solution worked, you’ll not see the error message and the light no more flashes red.
But if the problem still exists, follow the next step.

    Step 4

    Disconnect accessories

One light might flashes red because of a defective accessory connected to your console. So you need to disconnect any accessory connected to your console to see if it is true.

    Here is how:
    • First, you need to turn off your Xbox 360 console.
    • Now, disconnect any accessories, such as controller or the Wireless Networking Adapter.

Note: The A/V cables and the power supply must be plugged into your console.
    • Finally, turn your console back on.
After performing all above, if you cannot troubleshoot the problem, your console needs to be repaired.

    Solutions

    Disconnect your power supply cords

If your power supply cords are not plugged in securely, you may see one flashing red light when you turn on your Xbox 360 console.

Disconnect and reconnect your power supply

    Turn off your console.

Disconnect the power cord from the back of your console. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet and the power supply unit.

Unplug both cords from the PSU, the console, and the outlet.

Reconnect all three connections making sure they are secure.

Plug both cords into the console, power supply, and outlet.

    Turn your console back on.

If this solution worked, your power button should look like this:

On the Xbox 360 console, the Ring of Light is green.

    Cannot connect to Xbox Live

    1) turn off the Xbox and unplug the power supply cord from the back of the Xbox then

    2) unplug power from the Motorola

    3) Wait at least 5 minutes then replug the gateway power.

    4) Wait 'til the light on the front of the modem/gateway which says BROADBAND, ONLINE, READY, CABLE or DSL is on solid (not flashing), then plug in the router. If you have a gateway instead of a modem and router or a modem with no router, then when that
light says it's ready, move on.

    5) Plug in and turn on the Xbox.

Update my xbox 360 and die

Problems with your Xbox 360 console can sometimes be solved by making sure your power supply connections are firmly secured. Try these steps in the following order:

    1. Turn off the console.
    2. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console.
    3. Unplug the power supply from the electrical outlet, and then unplug the short cord from the power supply.
    4. Plug the power cord back into the console, and then plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet and the power supply.
    5. Make sure that all three power supply connections are firm.
    6. Turn on the console and check the light on the power supply.
    7. Flashing orange, solid red, or no light: Your power supply may need to be replaced. Try the following solutions:
      1. Plug your console’s power supply into a different electrical outlet. Do not use a surge protector.
      2. If the power supply light is solid red or flashing orange, unplug the power supply and let it cool for 30 minutes. Then, plug the power supply back into the outlet.
If your power supply light is still flashing orange, solid red, or unlit, your power supply needs to be replaced. You can order a replacement Xbox 360 power supply from our
Xbox Online Service Center. Console registration is required to replace the power supply under warranty (the power supply warranty is the same as your console warranty).
