    Xbox wont turn off!!! Light blinks for 10-20 minutes


    So I have an xbox one X and lately it's been acting weird when I go to turn it off. I've really only noticed it after a longer play session, 3-4+ hours, but when I go to turn it off it turns the tv screen green and the button on the xbox itself starts blinking for about 10-20 minutes, only after will it power off.

    I have it set to toggle on/off to the tv and reciever and never used to have this issue. I also read somewhere that it's to do with some sort of dashboard update but I find that BS seeing as it's done it probably 5 or 6 times now in the last month.

    Anybody else having this issue or know of what it could be???

    Update

    Mine started to download when I turned it off last night. The white light was blinking for a few minutes and then turned off. Haven't turned it on this morning though to install yet.

    It wont stop blinking!!!! Even when its fully charged! PLEASE HALP!

    No its not fast. It blinks slow like it usually does before it powers off but instead of blinking once or twice like normal it just keeps going.

    I should add too that the controller light stays on and connected too. It wont turn off either. I’ve tried the go-to hard reset as well and it didn’t fix the issue.

    OK, sorry your having trouble with your Xbox! But maybe I can help... Usually when my Xbox is on and I turn it off it sleeps" and the light blinks every couple seconds! If this is the same no need to worry it will shut down completely after a minute or so!
    It's kinda like turning off a computer (at least the right way lol) it needs a minute to shut down properly and stop all programs and turn off with out disturbing the Xbox is functions! It's normal! Hope this helps! ☺

    try a Power Cycle of your Xbox by holding the power button for approximately 10 seconds until it completely turns off then switch off the power at the wall for 10 minutes.

    you should also try restarting your router by turning off the power and unplugging it for 10 minutes.

    restart the router first and wait for the lights to go green before starting the Xbox.
