Xbox won't turn off and is frozen.

What OS version are you currently on? You can find this info in Settings > System > Console info.

You’ve described various performance issues in your post here, and most of these have been officially acknowledged and are being looked into. I’ve reported the other ones.

  • Workaround: Restart the console from the Power Center (holding down the Xbox button > Restart console > Restart) or by holding the Xbox power button on the front of the console. As for games crashing and failing to launch, this is also a known issue as confirmed in this thread:

Yes we have tried manual power reset as described in the link. We've only had this console for 4 years and we take good care of it, I even go as far to regularly blow out the vents with a can of air.

We are finally getting it to shut down on its own but it takes at minimum 5 minutes to do so and when it turns on it still doesn't show anything on the screen but black. We also bought a new HDMI incase and it didn't change anything. I also tried a different outlet.

Based on your post description, it's likely to be a hardware issue, unfortunately.
However, I want to ask, may I know if you tried connecting the console directly to the wall, or in a different room?

Hello there, it's hard to diagnose what's going on with your console if it's a hardware issue.

But it seems that you already tried all the possible solutions from your side, at the moment, I can recommend you getting the console inspected in the closest repair shop.

Oh BTW, that screen with the "Connection Lost" bit is frozen. I've turned off the XBox and the second I turn it on and try to open up Madden, there it is.
