Xbox won't transfer files on external drive, want to move data to another

I've been stuck for a few months with a hard drive containing a number of games (older saves or otherwise lesser played games that I keep off the main console to save space) not being able to transfer. I don't believe I have the original USB cable the drive
used, but I have multiple hard drives of the same brand (Western Digital) to use on it yet it always says the connection is too weak. One of them allows me to see what's there but not move it, another doesn't show anything at all.

Yes, I have tried every step oftroubleshooting from Xbox support. (https://support.xbox.com/en-US/games/troubleshooting/console-doesnt-detect-external-storage)

I'm reorganizing those other drives for space, and I want to try and use one to take the load of the Xbox data on the drive (if it can work, I have not reformatted it yet). But I still have the issue of being unable to move the Xbox data anywhere, especially
if computers won't read the drive without telling you to format it again.

Is there any solution to actually getting that data off the drive if it continues to be sensitive? Or is there something about the original transfer problem that I haven't used for troubleshooting?

This sounds like there might be a issue with the enclosure itself, Is it powered by outlet or console?. Also do have to ask if you have made sure that the the enclosure is USB 3.0. I would also suggest checking the cable ect and going from there trying a
different usb port ect.

Yeah if its not 3.0 it wont work correctly

The data transfer cable is made to move files from one hard drive to another. It's not made to work with a PC.

Easiest way is to attach a 500gb external USB 3.0 drive to the old console and move the data to the external drive, then connect that drive to the new console and transfer the data back, or just use the external

Hi there, you won't have to buy them again, but I'm not entirely sure if you can transfer them like you could with the 360's as I don't think there's a transfer cable. You could move all your stuff onto an external hard drive which then you could easily
move between consoles which I would suggest doing as it's very convenient.

Also save data is automatically backed up to the cloud so when you start the game on another console it will just pull your save data from the cloud, but that data would also come with you if you move everything on an external hard drive.
