xbox wont send audio to tv anymore

The first thing to do would be to try the console in another TV (if possible ) to help narrow the issue. The second thing you can do is go over the steps mentioned below. Since you have already checked your cables, you will have to troubleshoot the issue with an audio-video receiver.

If your Xbox console is connected to an audio-video receiver that's connected to your TV and you have no sound, follow these steps:

1. Turn on your devices in the following order. Wait for each device to fully power up before starting the next device:
   
   1. TV
      
   2. Audio-video receiver
      
   3. Xbox console
      
2. Use the Input button on your TV’s remote control to switch the input source of your receiver away from the console and then back (for example, HDMI1 to HDMI2, then back to HDMI1).
   
3. Restart the audio-video receiver.
   
4. Set your TV connection to HDMI:
   
   1. Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide.
      
   2. Select Profile & system > Settings > General > TV & display options.
      
   3. Select Video fidelity & overscan.
      
   4. Under Display, select HDMI.
      

Hi, I dont think the tv is the problem. Since I got the HDMI cable (for both audio and the video signal) connected to the receiver, the receiver has "HDMI Passthrough" so it grabs the audio from the hdmi in, and sends the picture through to the tv. The model
is a Marantz NR1402 by the way.

Turning the TV on and off wont help , altough the xbox does display a hdcp link restored message when i switch input channels on the receiver, this doesn't fix the sound.

My set up will be:

Cable Box HDMI out to Xbox One HDMI IN, Xbox One HDMI out to Receiver HDMI In, Receiver HDMI out to TV HDMI in, Receiver Audio out to Speakers

So the Cable audio/video goes to the Xbox One, Xbox One send that and/or it's audio/video to the Receiver, Receiver sends video to TV and audio to Speakers

It seems like that's what you're describing, so I'm not sure why you think audio is being left out anywhere.

You using HDMI? Could be the setting on the xbox is only sending audio to headset and not to the tv on HDMI

do you have another TV you can connect it to?

that would confirm whether it is the Xbox not sending audio or whether it is a possible fault on the TV
