    Xbox wont reconize ethernet cable


    I've been having trouble connecting my Ethernet cord to Xbox. I plug my Ethernet cord to my laptop it works just fine. Xbox won't even recognize the Ethernet cord, haven't played Xbox that much got it in January 16'. Any solutions that could work? Thank

    usb ethernet port?

    the ethernet on my port is bad because the xbox wont reconize the ethernet cable I know it works becase when I hook it up to the laptop it instantly connects to the internet so i was thinking of getting a usb ethernet port but before buying it I want to
    know if the xbox one has a driver for it?

    Cant connect to xbox live

    I have been off my xbox360 for a while and my xbox live ran out. I pluged in my xbox360 Internet cable to my router. For some reson it wont reconize my xbox360 internet wire and now I cant go on xbox live. While I was off my xbox360 for about 2-3months i
    got a new router. The internet cable works fine. Why wont it reconize my internet cable for my xbox360 and let me go back on xbox live?

    Hey there! Exactly which console do you have, an older version, or the new S console? If older, do you have a wireless network adapter attached? Have you also tried multiple ethernet cables? Thanks!

    I have the older version. I had gotten mine in Dec 2006. No I don't have a wireless network adapter attached, and that I don't have a wireless adapter at all. I've always used an Ethernet cable. Yes I have tried multiple ones. I just brought a new one today
    and have tried it and it still wont recognize it at all. Even though I have it plugged into the router and into my xbox it will tell me I need to attach an Ethernet cable to the xbox and router.

    yeah...sounds like the ethernet port on your console is dead. One simple way to test this is to borrow a console, plug up your ethernet cord to it and see if that console will connect to Live. If so, then your ethernet port has been damaged somehow.
