Xbox won't recognize new disc

I have purchased the modern warfare 2 disc. When I Insert the disc, it does not recognize the disc is there. I have restarted Xbox several times, but that does not fix the problem. I have also inserted other discs that I have, and they have worked fine. I know that there are no issues with scratches, as this is a new disc.

Mckenjm, first check that you have purchased the version of COD compatible with your platform.

xbox One version works on One and Series consoles, Series version of the game works only on Series console.

Another thing you can do is download the xbox app on your phone, search for the game and download it. At the end of the download, put the CD and see if the game works.

My forza 4 disc 2 doesn't work, the xbox won't even recognize it.

..Tried on my 2 Xboxes (both with Philips drive) but game won't load

it works, BUT.... if you have the 2 disc set it won't recognize it. That ticks me off, I bought it because it said it was compatible on the Xbox One. Now I'm saying forget it, buying a used 360, and only buying new games on my PS4 and never buying Xbox again.
