Xbox wont play at 4k 60hz tried different tv´s

Hi,

my Xbox One X won´t play games in 4K 60hz. It will only run games in "Up to native 4K".

When i go to settings it supports movies etc at 4k, 60hz, 50hz, and so on. HDR is fully supported.

I´ve tried a Samsung 7 series tv and a LG OLED55B6V and it gets the same results. I´ve also checked up with the settings both at the tv and xbox. I also contacted samsung, but they can´t find anything wrong from the TV side.

I have tried the different guides at the support page at xbox.com but it doesen´t seems to help.

I just want to play the games at the resolution the console is meant the be played. Hope someone can help

Xbox one s does not allow 60Hz in advanced video settings but my TV supports it

Xbox one s does not allow 60Hz for games & apps in the Advanced video settings, even though I have a TV (LG OLED65B6P) that supports this mode. Xbox one S says that my TV supports 60Hz at 10-bit HDR but does not allow me to select 60Hz. It allows 4K, HDR,
and 24Hz. My TV does not support 50Hz, bit it does allow 60Hz.

 

LG OLED55E6P Problems with Xbox One S

I have two problems

• My Xbox Remote control doesn't seem to work for volume control. Changing channels works and the other buttons like play pause and RR FF. Yes I went through the setup process.
  
• All the settings to control my TV through Xbox don't work. I used to be able to turn on my tv via the xbox. Also, when the xbox turned off, so did the TV.
  

Is there some sort of Xbox One S setup guide for 4K TV's? I went to "Advanced Video Settings" -> "$K TV details" and the only thing it says is"Your TV supports 4K UHD (60Hz).

For Watching TV's or Movies and Playing games it says my TV doesn't support:

• 4k 10-bit at 24Hz
• 4K at 50Hz
• 4k 10-bit at 60Hz
• HDR10 for video
• 4K 10-bit at 60Hz for playing games
• HDR10 for gaming

 

Most games won't play at 4K since most have not been coded to run at hat resolution.

I´m aware of this. When you go to settings, Display & Sound. Then 4K TV details. This is where it is supposed to say "Your TV Supports 4K at 60hz" istead it says " Your TV setup supports up to native 4K for gaming."

 

Ok so the Xbox is detecting what the tv supports. But that doesn't make the game 4k.

Please see the image I have taken below with my Xbox One X connected to my LG OLED55B6V if you also get the same image then your television is setup correctly and as xHAZMAT RADIOx has said just because your television supports 4K it does not necessarily
mean a game will.

 

HDR typically isn't on by default, you'll need to enable it. More expensive models (like yours) support HDR or 'HDMI Deep Color' on multiple inputs.

Make sure your TV is connected to the internet, because it is highly recommended you get the latest software update for your set.

Enable HDR feature on your TV - This is in the General settings on your LG TV and is called 'HDMI Deep Color'

Go to your Xbox settings and run the test. Hopefully, you'll get all the ticks like gds1972 has in their screenshot
