Xbox won't let me update!!!

With the August update out, my friends tell me about it all the time. However, for some reason I get every update later than everyone else. Now it's a problem because it's stopping me from playing some of my favorite games. What do I do?

I need help ASAP please. I am trying to update a game on xbox but it won't let me update it. It's stuck at 0% and it won't let me cancel the update either. WHAT DO I DO???

Can I force my console to update before the update switches to mandatory?

Yes. Once an update has been set as available, you can force your console to start immediately. There are two ways to perform this action, based on whether your console is online or offline.

Online consoles. To force an update to a console while the release is in an available state, follow these steps:

1. Scroll left from Home to open the guide.

2. Select Settings.

3. Select All Settings.

4. Under System, select Console info & updates.

Available updates will show in the second button down in the first column.

If an update is available, the button will read Update Available. If your console is already on the current release build, the button will be greyed out and will read No update available.

 

The update comes out on August 2nd it's hasn't been released to the public, only for preview.

You would need to do some basic troubleshooting for the game(s) not launching lets hard reset the console hold the power button for 8 seconds on the console until it powers down unplug it from receiving power and sending HDMI signals once done wait up to
5-6 minutes uninterrupted plug it back in and test a game out.

 

I already tried that. When I check if there's an update it is greyed out saying no update available

 

Are you currently in the preview program with the preview dashboard? Because it's kinda hard if you don't provide a yes or no. Thanks

Lets try removing and re-adding your profile back to the console usually that will fix it.

 

No. I just tried what you told me. Game still doesn't work.

 

I have 2 profiles and the game works with neither of them. Should I still try?

 

Sir / Ma'am please can you provide the answer to the preview program question i would need to direct you to the proper forums if so.

You may need to re--download the game if that hasn't worked.

 

No to the preview program. I've tried reinstalling the game 5 times or more and in between each uninstall I reset the whole Xbox.

 

Okay that's the reason you are not receiving the update.

You may need to contact support via online chat, phone call since there isn't a reason for you too be unable to launch the game.

 

Also the game is roblox only. None others. The other one ended up loading

 

As i am aware Roblox has recently received an update did you install it yet?

 

How can you check for updates on games? That might be why.
