xbox wont let me do anything that requires an internet connection, even though im connected

I turn on my xbox and if it is connected to my wifi it doesnt sign me in, so i go to the settings, turn off the wifi connection, sign in offline, then i can turn the wifi back on, but it wont let me use any online features like get achievements, send messages,
and even my friends list doesnt update what they are doing, for example of what i mean by it wont update the friedns list, one of my friends it says was last online 9 days ago, and ive had this problem for about a week and a half, and it still says last seen
9 days ago, so i dont know how to fix this

XB1 failing to update

So i just got my new XBox out of the box today. It keeps requiring me to do updates and remains at 0% forever, and afterwards noticing that it fails to update. It's already connected to the internet though.

What should I do? The option is either updating or to turn off the XBox meanwhile it's won't even update.

 

Disconnected from Xbox LIVE when I log into any live account

that will not let you download cause you need to be connected to XBL... im having the same problem as digital and i cant get anything to work.. i sign into my profile and it says "you have lost connection to xbox live. please sign in again. i test my connection
and it says my network is connected, internet is connected and xbox live is connected but yet it still wont let me sign in to xbox live

 

May be a profile problem , try this and see if it helps ...

go into settings and remove all the profiles , (make sure you have the email and password to get them back ) after you remove the profiles , shut the xbox down by holding the xbox logo on the console for 8 seconds till it powers down , while it is off ,
unplug your modem and router for 30 seconds to clear them also , plug the modem and router back up and when they are online , turn the xbox back on , when it is all the way up . re add your main profile ...it may sit there and sync a little while but all SHOULD
be good afterwards ...

My Xbox live account isn't letting me sign in, if I delete it do I need to the code for live or will it still be there when I sign it back in?

 

all you need is your email and password for your Microsoft account , but you don't show as having gold on this forum...
