    Xbox won't let me change the email address associated with my gamer tag.


    Ive being trying to change the email address associated to my xbox gamer tag for the past 3 months. Ive contacted numerous times and had a case opened.

    I changed some security info on purpose so that I have to wait the 30 day period and would be emailed when the 30 day period is over. I received the email telling me that my wait period is over and its still not letting me change the email address associated
    with my gamer tag.

    Ive being through all the steps possible with xbox representatives and in the end they told me to just add an allis and make it my primary but I want to change the whole Microsoft account completely and nobody can seem to resolve it.

    My xbox360 gamer tag is associated with email addresses that no longer exist. How can I change my email addresses ? Also I set up smart glass and it created a new gamer tag for me that I do not want. What I want is my original gamer tag associated with
    my New email. But xbox ga e me a new gamer tag as stared earlier. Can I Erase the new gamer tag and attach it to my original gamer tag?

    I WANTED TO CHANGE MY EMAIL BECAUSE I NO LONGER USE THE EMAIL ASSOCIATED WITH MY GAMER TAG OR XBOX ACCOUNT, WELL GUESS WHAT, IT WON'T LET ME!!! PLEASE FREAKING HELP I WANT MY EMAIL I USE NOW!

    Hi there, sorry to hear about your issue, is it throwing up any kind of error code?

    If it's saying 'Sorry, we can't change your Microsoft account at the moment.' then the 30 days hasn't passed and I'd suggest waiting a bit longer, even though you recieved the email stating the wait period is over.

    Also sometimes deleting the profile from the console (profile only), clear the system cache, restart the console and re-download your profile can clear up some of these funny profile issues. If you haven't already, I'd suggest giving it a go.

    Delete and re-download profile:
    support.xbox.com/.../profile-move-delete

    Clear system cache:
    support.xbox.com/.../clear-system-cache

    I was getting this error because I had 2p remaining on my account so I had to purchase something so that it would deduct the 2p from my account.

    Accidentally created a second gamer tag on same email as first

    first of all you can not have 2 different gamer tags on one email address so there must be a different email address associated with the original gamer tag your best bet would be to contact xbox support at support.xbox.com/contact-us and give them your gamer
    tag and if they can verify your account they can give you the email address associated with your original gamer tag

    The old 360s did not require you to verify the email address (if it was not a MS server email) this is what causes problems like this.

    If you can try this.

    Sign into the old misspelled account at account.microsoft.com/addassocid this should bring up a box saying that you need to verify the email address.

    Under that message there should be a link to change what email address is associated with that account.

    Once you get that changed and it is verified you should then be able to change that gamer tag to something different freeing up that gamertag. Then you should be able to change the gamertag on your new account to the old gamertag.

    It is possible but it is going to take a couple of steps to get this done.

    First this is all contingent on you knowing the misspelled email and the password for that account.

    If you know these things then follow these directions.

    Just so that I am understanding everything correctly

    You have an old account that you misspelled the email domain on it.

    What account did you buy Halo MCC on?

    The old one or the new one?

    When you try and sign in with the Misspelled email and password What message do you get?

    In the long run if you bought Halo MCC on the New account that is the account the game is going to be tied to.

    If you are wanting to have the Gamertag for the old account on the new account it is possible you may have to pay around 20 USD to change the gamertag on the old account to free up that gamertag then change the gamertag on the new account to the old gamertag
    once its freed up but we would need to get you into that old account first.

    i bought mcc through steam for the PC. When i try to log in with my old xbox account on mcc it says "That Microsoft account doesn't exist. Enter a different account or get
    a new one    ." Ive logged on to my xbox and my old account is logged in there still, i also looked it up online and it said it still exists.
