    I had to unplug my entire xbox one system yesterday. When I plugged it all back in, the kinect decided it didn't want to work. It stays at the "green screen of death" and it WILL NOT go to the menu until the kinect sensor turns on. I had to wait twenty minutes
    last night for the kinect to turn on, and I got to enjoy the green screen of nothing while I waited. This morning it took 10 minutes. This afternoon, it literally took me an entire hour before I finally held down the console power button to turn the system
    off. I then proceeded to unplug the console and the kinect. I plugged the kinect back in first, and plugged in the system afterwards. After five minutes, the kinect started up. I decided to turn the kinect off since it was giving me problems. Yes I left it
    plugged in. Then I turned the xbox off, and tried to turn it back on. Green screen. I used to be able to use the xbox one without the kinect, but I guess it's MANDATORY to have the kinect on to load up the menu. So this basically means I just KILLED my Xbox.
    Fantastic! I only spent $540 on the system 5 days before they announced a cheaper Xbox One without the thing that is ruining my entire experience. I unplugged everything again, hoping and praying that it would automatically turn the kinect back on. Nope. I
    can't get to the menu, I'm just staring at a green screen with a kinect that I have no possible way of turning back on. I have had NO problems with the kinect before yesterday, but now I don't even have an Xbox One anymore. Destiny just came out, and instead
    of enjoying it, I'm wasting all of my free time troubleshooting and realizing that I possibly killed the system. So has anyone else had this problem? I've been searching everywhere, but I've found nothing. I don't want to have to return the console. I lost
    the Walmart receipt, and even if Microsoft will take it back, I don't want to go weeks without an xbox. So help from ANYONE would be more than greatly appreciated.

    Hi, Dustin. My name is Ron, I'm an independent advisor. I will be more than happy to help you.

    Please do the steps below in sequence to do a factory reset and let me know if it works:

    - Unplug the network cable if you're using a wired network connection.

    - Power off your console, and then unplug the power cord to ensure that the console is completely powered off.

    - Wait 30 seconds.

    - Plug the power cord back in.

    - Press and hold the BIND button (the one you use to sync controllers) and the EJECT button, and then press the Xbox button on the console.

    - Continue holding the BIND and EJECT buttons for 10-15 seconds.

    - Listen for two “power-up” tones a couple of seconds apart.

    Note: If you don't hear two power-up tones after 15 seconds, it means this failed. Likewise, if you hear any “power-down” chirps, that also means this failed.

    - You can release the BIND and EJECT buttons after the second power-up tone.

    - The console should start and show the Troubleshooting screen

    - Choose "reset this Xbox" and there you have an option to Keep Games and Apps (already downloaded) or to Remove Everything

    Once that's done, let me know if it lets you access the Xbox dashboard.
