Xbox Won't Go Home

Hello,

I've experienced an odd issue four times now. I'll be playing a game and when I've finished I'll press the Home button on my controller and nothing will happen. So I say 'xbox go home' and receive the message that shows the xbox has heard and understood
my voice command, but still doesn't go home, it just sits in the game. If I leave it for a couple of minutes, it will then jump back to the dashboard, like there has been a delay. The other alternative is turning the xbox off which I don't necessarily want
to do. Has anyone else experienced this oddity?

Xbox won't go home

Try performing the hard reset EXACTLY like this.

Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart the console. Once it is back up and operational test
the results.

Xbox won't go home

Xbox won't go home when told to via the Xbox button on a controller, nor by using Kinect voice commands. I get this error code: 0x87b20c07 . Which I tried entering on the code error page, to no avail. My other console does this often as well; and there
has never been a resolution. It simply recommends if it keeps happening to reset the console with the 10second power hold. This is very frustrating!!

 

Hey there, I actually did experience this exact issues the other night, I pressed the home button and nothing happened, so I pressed it again and it tried to snap or screenshot something, it was weird. So that night I did a power cycle and the next day it
seemed to resume as normal, have you do the ye ol power cycle yet?

Also Xbox Live has been experiencing some funny issues the past 2 days, maybe it stems from that.

 

Hello thanks for your reply. I did try the power cycle and it was fine for a time, but then did the same issue again. It has happened when playing Halo MCC and also Evil Within. It's really strange.

 

I believe ever since the Feb system update a lot of people have had this happen. There's no real fix. You can do the power cycle and it may help for a day or so but it will come back. I know cuz it does it to me also. Something I've noticed that helps is
to basically cycle through all the commands. Like long press the home button then double tab it, hit the start button, the back button. Most of the time this will help. Sometimes you're just stuck waiting the 5 minutes.

 

Oh and also microsoft REFUSES to acknowledge this. TONS of people have reported it and it still hasn't been fixed.

 

I am having the problem right now, haven't been able to access my home for 2 days now.....
