    Xbox won't download stuff


    I recently tried to install a game on my. Box one, only to be greeted by the "something went wrong" message, followed by an error: 0x8000ffff. I looked the code up and found it was for failure to start up a game or join a party, not failure to start a download.
    After fiddling around with my console, and restarting it a few times, I learned that my Xbox now simply refused to install ANYTHING. Anybody with some helpful info on my problem would be greatly appreciated.

    Xbox won't install digital downloads

    alright so my xbox has been working fine. I allways download stuff digitally but the past 3 days it won't download anything. it puts it in my queue but never starts downloading and I tell it to install now but it still won't start. what do i do?

    I believe they are the same. Like I said, I can still download other stuff. I have tried it and it works. Its just this one game won't let me re-download it. Could it be related to the xbox falling?

    support told me this is currently an on-going issue because this is happening to me as well right now. They said they will make a public announcement about it. Apparently some new guy tripped over a wire...lol

    Go offline and try it. Everything works offline if you have disks. Haven't tried downloaded games yet, but they may work as well.

    There is a difference in the Xbox 360 where it won't give error codes for offline stuff.
