Xbox won't connect to live, but can update

Hi All,

So my Xbox one says that everything is good when testing the connection and if can update itself, but for some reason I cannot connect to live and Microsoft edge won't work either. Is there any reason for this abnormality?

Xbox 360 Internet connectivity Problem

I am trying to connect my xbox 360 to xbox live. Before I install the new update, the xbox internet works fine. But, after the update my xbox either does not connect to the internet or it says that the xbox 360 will connect to the internet but, xbox live
won't connect properly or something like that. I can only connect to the internet by using my laptop to share the connection. So does anyone have any idea to fix this? Thanks.

I have had a similar issue before which I managed to fix by signing out and signing back in. Hope this helps.

I have an xbox 360 slim ok so when test my xbox live connection it connects to everything but Xbox live then a message show saying that I have to update my xbox live and if I didn't update it won't connect to xbox live so I said yes and at the near end
of the update it xbox error plz give me a solution

EDIT: I tried putting my account on my brother's xbox that haven't gotten the update yet. We tested the connection and it came to Xbox Live and asked for us to download the update. I accepted and it instantly gave me an error telling the update failed.

It won't let us connect to live without the update and without the update we can't connect to live it appears.

Yes. You can still be connected to Live as a Free member, they just won't be able to play online. But they can still get game updates and everything else on Live.

Well mine won't finish updating. Something went wrong and the update just stopped. After I tried again it won't do it. I lost the connection to xbox live and when I test the connection, it says I need to update, and when I try to update it says it can't
connect. Somehow I got in a loop of fml.
